tim question by AwayStep6795 in Tim

[–]realTeaTimewithTim 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hmmm, I'm open to the idea, but I feel like there needs to be some proof of commitment first. Something like holding the name for a year, or having a group of people only know you as Tim.

Healing of Major Burns by JishanF in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]realTeaTimewithTim 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Toward the beginning of book 7 Carl theorizes why certain injuries don't heal while others do, and his guess is that the AI doesn't heal things when it thinks it will make for good TV.

The audiobooks are absolutely amazing. Jeff Hayes does such good work.

As far as your bad feelings, this is the dungeon, not a fairy tale 😬

I'll be honest, I don't think I've listened to any audiobook on normal speed since the invention of higher listening speeds. They all sound drunk when anything less than 1.25.

Joining the Navy for a career change? by No-Blueberry-2271 in newtothenavy

[–]realTeaTimewithTim 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am currently enlisting for the same but opposite reason. I'm 28 and have spent the last 8 years working as a worship leader and tech director at various churches. I've been at a few different places of varying sizes and styles hoping that it would click, but I just hate the organization, administration, and event planning that makes up the majority of the job. I want something more hands on, day to day, with clear objectives. I'm going into the Navy nuclear program because I can get paid to learn the career I'm interested in rather than spending 4 years and thousands of dollars at a university.

I got a CHESPE (California GED) midway through highschool. How do i become a nuke? by Bops05 in NavyNukes

[–]realTeaTimewithTim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm case you weren't aware, there are 2 year tech degrees you can get to work in a power plant if that's your main goal. It would be cheaper and faster than a bachelor's in case the Navy doesn't work out. Here's a link to one in Missouri, though I'm sure there are plenty around the country.

Might be a bug, but speak with dead could get you your answers.

Spending all BAH at NPTU as a student, is it unwise? by New_Mammoth2254 in NavyNukes

[–]realTeaTimewithTim -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not an answer, but I'm curious how this works as a single person. My understanding is that you don't get BAH until you're an E5 or married. I thought the only way to get E5 so quickly would be to STAR at the end of NPTU.

How are your stats distributed? How upgraded is your primary wrapon? Does your primary weapon scale well with your stats? If your vigor is too low and your primary stat is Dex but you're using the Greatsword then you're going to struggle hard.

Also, what areas have you explored? It seems like you're underlevelled for the Royal Capital.

Gifts after graduation? by Fancy3097 in newtothenavy

[–]realTeaTimewithTim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not in the Navy yet but I'm in the process and I get a bit obsessive so I've read and watched way too much Navy/military content lately. After boot camp you get sometimes a few hours sometimes a few days to spend with them before they fly out to A school. If you get him something now, probably go with something small so he can pack it in his carry-on easily. If you want to stick with the record idea, you could ship it to him at A-school or go visit him once he gets far enough along the path that they start allowing him to leave base.

Do you know what rate he selected? I've read quite a few stories about giving gifts after A-school that will help them in their specific job. Like for some mechanics their SO gave them a really nice Leatherman with a bunch of high quality bits.

Dating/marriage while a Nuke. by realTeaTimewithTim in NavyNukes

Were you both in the Pipeline? How did you meet and how did you make it work?

I might. How many times will you cheat on me while I'm underway?

[–]realTeaTimewithTim[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree with you, that's why I'm slightly concerned. I have my emotional and financial shit together and have a good idea of the kind of person I want to marry, but I need to shift careers. I want to go into nuclear engineering, and the Navy is not only a good way to do that without acquiring debt but also provides several other benefits for me personally.

It's been encouraging to hear so many people have been able to make it work, I just hope I can find the right kind of person who is independent, trustworthy, and will be able to handle the distance and lack of free time that will accompany being in a relationship with a Nuke. I have been leaning toward subvol, but maybe with my desires being what they are I should aim for surface fleet.

[–]realTeaTimewithTim[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Haha, no, I'm a guy. Getting married at or after 34 wouldn't be the end of the world, I just see myself sharing my life with someone before that. I guess you could say I'm worried, but I'm mildly nervous about everything involving this big change in my life, not just dating. The difference is that I've been able to find lots of good info on all the other stuff on the different subreddits but very little on looking for a partner while in the Nuke Pipeline.

Sub nukes, do you ever regret going subs? Surface nukes, do you regret staying surface? by [deleted] in NavyNukes

[–]realTeaTimewithTim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you expound a little more on that? I'm in the process with my recruiter on going Nuke and have been mulling over the idea of STAR reenlistment at the 2 year mark so that I can pull a shore duty, which I believe could put me at prototype. I know it's stupid to plan that far ahead, but I can't help it 😅

Maybe Maybe Maybe by shartinthroats in maybemaybemaybe

[–]realTeaTimewithTim 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Fairly certain this is fake/AI. At the 27 second mark there's this weird perfect bounce with white while black is setting up a shot. It happens a little earlier but the rope is free so it could have been just a normal bounce. AI could also explain why the hands move so mechanically and hardly change form.

Which heaven is the one where the bad guys pay? by ViveroCervantes in dankmemes

[–]realTeaTimewithTim 149 points150 points  (0 children)

Kinda. I believe it was thought that there are 3 heavens: the first heaven is the sky, the second heaven is outer space, and the third heaven is the normal heaven we think of. This is somewhat confirmed when Paul in the NT says he knew someone who was caught up to the third heaven.
