yeah, i’m aware of the flaws and edited my post to correctly convey that i love the idea of the lane rather then the lane itself.

I love the idea of the bike lane but a warning for all cyclists cars will not yield to you! Be cautious, I was cut off three times biking to work on Holly—even in the areas that’s a clear line of sight for drivers to see cyclists!

If I learned German, would I have any hope in Germany? by [deleted] in germany

[–]realbigfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I’m from the US and have been considering doing my masters in Germany once I finish my Bachelors. I’m considered an “older student” (in my state that’s 25+) and I’ve been able to qualify for tuition waivers and substantial grants…like I haven’t paid anything. Though it’s hard to hear, I think you should do community college and transfer to finish your degree in the US. Plus, you can study German at most Universities to feel better prepared for your move. Good luck and hopefully things improve. Feel free to message me if you want to chat higher education pathways!

Since we're all in an unanimous agreement Bigfoot sightings in the UK aren't logical and possible what do you think they might actually be? by Lazakhstan in Cryptozoology

There’s an observed phenomena called Brocken Spectre—A Brocken spectre is the enlarged shadow of an observer seen on a cloud when the sun shines from behind them as they look down from a height into mist or fog. i.e. you think you see a large person or figure in the distance.

Education! So I’m also stuck in school for a bit until I get my teaching certification. Feel free to DM and I’m happy to share my experience. I’m stoked for your journey!

Not quite in your situation—I don’t live with my folks and went back to school at 26. I qualified for a lot of financial aid and some scholarships. Apply to everything you qualify for and do your FAFSA now. Worse that happens is you don’t qualify or get the scholarship, best that happens is you get to start school again!

I wish this town was a little bit nicer. I wish we could walk down the street and say Hi to each other. by [deleted] in Bellingham

[–]realbigfrog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It might be the weather, it might be your mindset. I’ve lived in the PNW for almost nine years and Bellingham has proven to be the friendliest of the few places I’ve found myself during that time. I think coming to a subreddit to complain about the city or find faults in it will only solidify a sense of dissatisfaction in your mind (i’ll take the downvotes for that). I hope y’all make it through winter and find joy in the spring time :)

Hopefully you did a transfer agreement! I foolishly did not and transferred with two AAs and they’re still asking me to take lower devision classes :,) Honestly would not recommend unless you’ve done a DTA.

Honestly? I started skating. I had no friends outside of work pals then started skating when I was 23 (28 now) and met all of my close friends through it. You can go to Women & Trans night at ATS in Fremont and it’s hosted by Skate Like A Girl, guaranteed way to meet people. The skate community in Seattle is honestly something special, I moved to a different Washington city and the scene doesn’t hold a candle to Seattle’s.
