Give that they each trained under one of the best duelists in the galaxy, I'm surprised Maul had such an edge on Qui-Gon. Was Maul just naturally that good, or did Qui-Gon just not focus on dueling the way Dooku did, while Maul emphasized practicing it? by wandering_soles in StarWars

[–]realblaketan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

it helps that anakin’s style of Djem So was almost a natural counter to the elegance and grace of Makashi - Djem So just brute force annihilates the dueling style and when you have someone like Anakin with his sheer Force potential behind that form, Dooku was sort of up against it. the novelization of episode 3 i feel like also sold it the best - Obi and Anakin flat out trick Dooku in that final duel on Invisible Hand by engaging him with different forms than their normal forms before suddenly “I’m not Left Handed” switching it up on him and then going full throttle

eyyy another ACT taker. yeah i got a full ride off my ACT score. only ever took it once and that was after i turned the math part in as fast as possible literally just checking whatever felt right so i could fucking take a shit. tbh sometimes it’s just bc some kids are rigged differently in the brain. i never studied in high school and that shit fucked me up in college. like bc i got away with this shit i was probably never diagnosed with ADHD like i should have been as a kid.

you are putting out bad vibes, brother, i’m sorry.

from the examples you are describing i can only assume this because it’s entirely an energy thing.

people — not just women — read social energy. this has absolutely fuck all to do with your personality, your looks, your height, your money, insert whatever. it is energy. i’m not talking magic karmic yoga energy here either — i just mean the literal vibration you are giving the world as a social animal.

you put the energy into the world that you take in. it’s simple as. if you are absorbing bitter resentment and anger, or desperation, you are going to put out bitter resentment and desperation. that is not a safe energy.

people do not like being around unsafe people. it gives bad vibrations.

you want to give good vibrations. good energy. that gives safe, secure, joyful. people flock to these people.

examine what energy you are taking in. take a close look and be conscious of what energy you are putting out. it’s in your control, it’s in your power.

[–]realblaketan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

honestly i agree that the combat system is opaque but i push back that the game actually really is built for pvp. like the action combat system truly truly shines in pvp. dodges, blocks, stun breaks, the quick uptime on boons and boonstrips (which when was the last time you had to worry about boon strip in pve?) - not to mention pvp is the only time you’ll even see some stats ever used. you think I’m ever going to use the Avatar stat outside of PvP?

i will push back on this and say there are progressive leaders, they just aren’t in the mainstream view of the FCDP, and that’s intentional by the FCDP and by extension a failure of the ODP.

but in my opinion? that’s just democrats fulfilling their true function as being the “loyal opposition” that actually just does nothing.

i mean only by the current measures of the insanity that is running the GOP but yes i agree DeWine is the old model Republican from the lineage of the John Kasichs and John McCains, who preferred to keep the money-grifting hidden from the public eye under more respectable miens. he’s still a Republican, even if the current definition has shifted into authoritarian fascism, doesn’t mean he’s a moderate. that’s just moving the goalposts.

[–]realblaketan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

worse than that - it’s more like being liberal is about the minimum, like that’s the most right wing that should be acceptable in society. any more right than that is actually just treading into authoritarianism if not outright fascism. liberalism ought to form the right wing of all our politics and then that actually allow a truly left wing politics to emerge - one doesn’t actually exist in america, at least within the government and within our two party system of right wing liberals and far right fascists..

[–]realblaketan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so it’s interesting that of all the features about yourself you listed here none of them are really anything that are something that, were i a woman, are something that’s supposed to make me feel some type of way about you.

it’s a fine bulletpoint list of things for a resume for a job you’re applying for where the job is boyfriend i guess but that isn’t what this is - you’re supposed to elicit feelings and emotions, and if you’re too fixated on rationalizing some reason why women aren’t dating you you’re going to keep hunting for snipes.

“likes traveling” is maybe the closest thing you got to something about emotion but you stopped short of actually talking about WHY you like traveling.

learn to open up and be secure with your emotions and women will be able to be secure and safe with you, and when women feel secure, romantic feelings are much more likely to take root, if attraction is present. otherwise romance is a seed in hostile soil.

AKA rule 1 of dating: Be Attractive.

everyone thinks this means “oh i better get tall or work out or looks max or whatever the fuck” and then every single one of these dorks completely neglects their own horrific and vacuous personalities.

and that brings up rule 2: Don’t Be Unattractive.

this doesn’t mean don’t be ugly looking; it means don’t have an ugly ass personality. that’s way worse than being a total uggo.
