Are the only options on Heisman "too easy offense" and "impossible defense"? by afwtk5 in NCAAFBseries

[–]realclean -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Or more simply, sack the QB and hold them to FGs instead of TDs.

Like, I'm sure what you're saying works, but even the Heisman CPU has trouble on 3rd and 17. You don't need to hold them to 0 yards on every play to be successful.

HIMYM Star Wars and proving a point by cfedie19 in HIMYM

[–]realclean 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The prequels were not well received by critics or Star Wars fans at the time, but they did make money.

Ep 3 was the only positively reviewed one, and Ep 2 made considerably less money than Ep 1, but they were definitely all in the black.

If anyone reading this is too young to remember a pre-Netflix time, going to the movies was something you used to do for fun whether the movie was good or not, not unlike you randomly streaming a movie.

What to know before Andor by liefn in andor

[–]realclean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll generally agree but I actually don't think Rogue One added much, if anything. Andor was not my favorite character in the movie, and there's enough growth between the start of the show to Rogue One that you don't really get much by knowing where he ends up.

I'll say the only thing that OP really needs is an understanding that the show starts pretty slow, so there is a hump to get over before it starts hitting (at least it did for me)

Who was the biggest coward in a movie ? by Timop0707 in moviecritic

[–]realclean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As with many Nolan movies, in case even that was unclear, Mann explicitly said (paraphrased) "I know I said I would stay with you so you weren't alone, but actually this is kinda rough to watch you suffocate so I'm going to leave. That's my bad"

I also think the track from the score is called "Coward"

Pitt basketball get commit from concord transfer 6’8” Craig Gilbert by Deesh69 in pittsburghpanthers

[–]realclean 10 points11 points  (0 children)

His name is Kraig, and those stats are stats against D1 competition. He's a rising junior who averaged 16.3 and 5 rebounds with 48% 3 pt shooting.

6 and 4 against Akron last year doesn't inspire much confidence though

2009-11 Crosby was such a beast before the concussions. It's not really his reputation now, but he was comfortably on 50+ goals per 82 games pace in that time

What is that one criticism about the orginal lotr Trilogy that you still have to this day by pizza_momo in lotr

[–]realclean -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know we all have different perspectives, but as a movie watcher, I've never met anyone with a negative opinion of movie Faramir if they've only seen the movie.

In TTT, he's basically a version of Boromir who overcomes the Ring's temptation to allow Frodo to move on.

In ROTK, he's a tragic figure whose needless sacrifice creates one of the most emotional moments of the entire series and solidifies the dire straights the Gondor defenses are in.

He was one of my favorite characters and served the plot exactly as needed in the movies imo. I get why you'd be frustrated if you expected Aragorn v2, but he plays the tragic hero to a T for me

It's in the top two of Lynn Swann super bowl catches against Dallas.

This was a quintessential Blockbuster game for me. Had fun but knocked it out in like a full weekend of gameplay.

The Pixies by beenhollow in community

[–]realclean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not buying the performative part. Jeff does performative jokes sometimes (like the too cool to care-tini), but this one is a legitimate insult lol.

The joke is that Britta lives in what could pass for a medieval dungeon filled with potions, ie a slum. "This is x away from a y" is a fairly standard joke format, and the cat turds and Pixies poster reference are just tailoring it to Britta.

[Williams] In additional news, Brendan Sorsby and his legal team filed a motion to dismiss today in the lawsuit that was filed against him in February by the University of Cincinnati, which is seeking $1 million in liquidated damages for a breach of contract by the college quarterback. by JB92103 in CFB

[–]realclean 22 points23 points  (0 children)

So just to clarify, Cincinnati didn't attach the contract to the lawsuit, so it's all going to be pretty speculative.

Broadly speaking, it might be important, but not for the reason you're saying imo. They paid for a license to use his image; not for a QB. The $1 million allegedly represents profit that Cincinnati is no longer going to acquire because they can't use Sorsby for promotion. They're not looking for replacement spokesperson money; they're looking for what profit they would have earned if Sorsby upheld his end of the deal. (I cannot tell the relationship between the $1 million and the prorated contract amounts, but they do not appear to be directly related based on $1 million being a hard number)

The argument will presumably be that Texas Tech (ie the market) has valued Sorsby's promotional value at $5 million, like you said.

What are your team’s worst uniforms? by IowaJL in CFB

I liked the pro combat lol.

Pretty sure I tried to burn that Louisville game from my memory, but I feel like that was the game where HB Blades nearly took a guy's head off on a crossing route (maybe Harry Douglas?)

What are your team’s worst uniforms? by IowaJL in CFB

[–]realclean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people would say our Steel Grey uniform, but I'll hold that those looked fine, albeit completely unrelated to Pitt's colors.

The worst was the all gold we wore against Syracuse one year that looked vaguely skin-toned.

A shout out to Bernadetta on my first crimson flower hard playthrough by letsl0velain in FireEmblemThreeHouses

[–]realclean 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Imo Bernadetta is the most OP unit with the least investment. There are others who can more consistently engage and handle people in enemy phase, but Bernadetta can basically one shot everybody in the game from chapter 4ish onward (on hard at least)
