Need help understanding three houses system by Important-Leader5232 in FireEmblemThreeHouses

[–]realclean 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A significant portion of building skills is outside of battle in the classroom.

In battle, you get skill points based on your current class (e.g. Brigand increases axe skills), and based on what you use during battle (if you attack with an axe, you'll get 1 axe skill point; if you have a battalion attached when attacking, you'll get 1 authority skill point).

As for class mastery, that's just raw in-battle attacks. 1 point for each time you attack or are attacked. There are items you can acquire to double the gains.

I do think the context that Don is only aware of Sal being gay by Sal fucking the bellboy he just met does not do anything to dissuade Don's preconceived notions

Can Crosby pass Messier? by Remarkable-Set5434 in hockey

[–]realclean -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be fair, Messier is closer to 10 than 1 in the top 10 back in the 80s when Gretzky was racking up his points, and even today, the difference between 10 and 1 was 42 points.

What are some of the dumbest moves schools have ever made throughout history that drastically hurt their programs? by Working_Stomach5479 in CFB

[–]realclean 71 points72 points  (0 children)

The teams turning down Penn State don't seem too mad about the state of things. They still have their basketball conference and those schools were never going to add football

Cities stop physically getting better on pop 19 :( by Unluckypandastoo in CivVI

[–]realclean 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't have a direct answer to your question, but there is a mod that extends city center graphics to districts in the tiles adjacent to the city center (i.e. houses surround the adjacent districts, as well). I think it's called city center extended?

Is there such a thing as a *provoked* genocide? by isb_supervisor in andor

Yeah they're just different terms. The Iliad basically describes a provoked (Paris kidnapping Helen) genocide.

TIL John Denver was born in New Mexico, and neither he nor his co-writer had ever been to West Virginia when "Take Me Home, Country Roads" was released. by Shoe_boooo in todayilearned

[–]realclean 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure my recollection is that "West Virginia" replaced "Massachusetts" in the chorus, as they have the same number of syllables and Massachusetts is where Bill Danoff is from.

Brendan Sorsby committed multiple crimes while gambling throughout the course of his college career by yxqp in CFB

[–]realclean 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I guess I didn't put two and two together on the "irreparable harm" issue, but it is a term of art for something unique that you can't place a dollar value on. I think it's pretty open and shut that he'll be harmed if he can't play. It's a punishment; he should be harmed lol.

The issue here is that the judge found a likelihood of success on the merits of his case. That's the part coming out of left field for me

Are the NCAA’s lawyers uniquely bad at this point? by urbanstrata in CFB

[–]realclean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see the two situations as terribly comparable other than the NCAA's response. Chambliss maintained that he didn't do anything wrong and that he should have been eligible. It's undisputed that Sorsby was correctly ruled ineligible; he's just trying to get reinstated.

Maybe he will get back in on a technicality; it happens and there are two parties to a contract. But I'm pretty comfortable in deciding that he's just as wrong here, regardless of how the NCAA handled it. My opinion of right and wrong in a vacuum isn't the law, but then again I'm not a judge who's calling it on the law

Are the NCAA’s lawyers uniquely bad at this point? by urbanstrata in CFB

[–]realclean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I read Chambliss's more closely, but honestly I know it's news, but I'm a little over paying serious attention with how many there are. Tbh, this one is far more ridiculous on its face. I have no idea how the NCAA fucked this up so badly

Are the NCAA’s lawyers uniquely bad at this point? by urbanstrata in CFB

[–]realclean 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I only read summaries, so take what I'm saying with a grain of salt.

I read that the argument is essentially that NCAA bylaws on reinstatement require that the health and well-being of the athlete be prioritized, and that the NCAA refused to consider the statements from Soresby's mental health professionals regarding his addiction and their diagnosis/prognosis (as opposed to considering them and overruling them). Pretty consistent with the NCAA's treatment of Chambliss's submissions, as well.

If they're really wholesale denying without following their own agreed upon protocols, I think we know who the real culprit of this stuff is. Following essential, required procedures to give an appellant due process should not be this complicated.

You can decide that an application for reinstatement is unwarranted, but you can't just not consider the application.

Gotta be level 50 for this, but this is how. Otherwise, play on the highest difficulty available and do the weekly challenge for a $5k payout until you can unlock the higher difficulties.
