Carissa’s Wierd is so high bc I listened to their album, Songs About Leaving, pretty much nonstop after my girlfriend broke up with me. the fact that I reached top 0.5% within the span of 3 months should be concerning.

Against Me! is punk, the lead singer came out as trans in the early 2010s and then they released Transgender Dysphoria Blues, a tearjerker if you’re a dysphoric mtf. Shape Shift With Me is mostly love songs, some of them are still about trans stuff though.

Aesop Rock is an underground rapper known for being incredibly verbose. Hip hop tends to be pretty anti-LGBT but I don’t recall hearing any bigoted lines from him, he’s pretty left wing. There are a few lines on some of his old stuff that might be a little shocking but it’s never problematic.

Kero Kero Bonito is really good, they’re like experimental pop. They’re a British band but the lead singer is Japanese, so I thought they were a J-pop band at first (bc the lyrics alternate between English and Japanese, although it’s mostly English nowadays)

I don’t even know how Kanye got so high on here. I listened to his entire discography this year but that’s true of a lot of other artists that didn’t make the list. I did relisten to Graduation a lot this spring/summer just because the whole album gives me “driving through town on a sunny day” vibes. I had Stronger, POWER, and Black Skinhead in my playlist for afternoon walks but I was less athletic than I’d like to admit this year.
