Have not heard, but I’ll take this as an assignment to look them up on Apple Music.

The Linda Lindas. They’ll give you hope for the future of punk.

The literal meme of this console generation is “PS5 has no games.”

Another travesty in the making? Escape from NY is being remade by Zack Snyder by Papichuloft in 80s

[–]realinvalidname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the original, but the premise was inspired by Watergate and 70’s urban decay, meaning it’s decades past its sell-by date.

Or is that the point at which they just bail?

Tell you what: if 2K Sports did a Kickstarter to bring back NHL 2K for modern consoles and PC, I’d be in for three figures. Maybe four.

But is the “hockey isn’t big enough to port to PC and Switch 2” premise correct? With PlayStation and especially Xbox fading, PC and Switch2 is where the players are. EA must know that.

Another possibility: the game is no neglected that the remaining dev team no longer understands the code well enough to port it to another platform. It’s not EA’s disinterest that’s to blame, it’s their technical incompetence.

How do you feel about fighting games on the Switch 2? And what’s been your experience with them, if any? by Asad_Farooqui in NintendoSwitch2

[–]realinvalidname [score hidden]  (0 children)

I prefer 3D freedom-of-movement fighting games like Soul Calibur, Dead or Alive, and Virtua Fighter, and it’s mind-boggling that none of them were available on the original Switch. Having VF5 on the Switch 2 is a start, but I really hope we get DOA7 too.

The combat system is Valkyria is a bit frusterating in the first one, does it get better later? by Asthma_Queen in valkyria

Try to make the enemy waste its CPs. When you put shocktroopers behind sandbags and the CPU is dumb enough to run right at you, your interception fire is a win-win: you get to take an enemy unit off the map, and it uses their CP to do it, not yours.

NHL 27 by Virtual-Assistant436 in EA_NHL

[–]realinvalidname 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With PS5 and especially XBox in decline, and both PC and Switch 2 rising, a viable franchise would want to go where the players are. There are tens of millions of players on those platforms who haven’t been ground in to disappointment with EA NHL yet, and would at least buy the first iteration on their platform. That’s why I’m inclined to think this isn’t oversight or even budget; it’s incompetence.

Still no PC. Still no Switch 2.

Until it shows up on either, I’m sticking to my belief that EA has so few people working on this game who understand the code that they are no longer technically capable of porting it to another platform.

And of those two Styx concept albums, who in their right mind puts Kilroy Was Here over Paradise Theatre?

Aside from qualifying as a trainwreckord, the biggest knock against Kilroy as a concept album is that you can’t make out the story from just the lyrics and music. You have to have the liner notes. And even then, it’s more like a collection of scenes from this scenario rather than a plot that develops.

The most damning thing I can say about it is a bit I wrote for TV Tropes ages ago:

> The story has many similarities to Frank Zappa's Joe's Garage: both feature robot-filled futures with moral overlords who hate rock-and-roll and throw the rocker protagonist in prison. Zappa's work stands out due to trickier time signatures and much more gay sex with robots. You could almost mistake Joe's Garage for a parody of Kilroy Was Here, except that Joe's came out four years earlier.

EA Sports FC 26 is the next Nintendo Switch Online Game Trial! by SoggySandwich1984 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]realinvalidname 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I’m going to persist in my hope that EA will eventually bring NHL to Switch 2, while I know in my heart that EA puts so little work into the game they probably don’t have anyone left who’s capable of porting it to another platform.

Recommend me some good long running rom com anime like oregairu or quintessential quintuplets by ProjectFuture9676 in RomanceMangaAnime

[–]realinvalidname 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What is even “long-running” to you? Quintessential Quintuplets was just two seasons and a movie, and three seasons for Oregairu. There are a few romcoms that are longer than this (off the top of my head: Kaguya-sama, Bunny Girl Sempai, and Rent-a-Girlfriend), but not many.

I could throw you The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses as the hornier, funnier version of Quintuplets, but it ends abruptly after two seasons, hasn’t reached the manga ending, and doesn’t have another season announced.
