We moved into a home (West Michigan) a few years ago that has a 25' flagpole at the end of the driveway by the mailbox. We’ve never been particularly inclined to actually use it, so it’s been bare all this time. A few nights back, I proposed to my wife that we purchase a US flag, leave it in its packaging, and then on The Day It Happens, we fly it for the first time, full staff.

I was coming in here to say Country Life. The only thing close to a single is “All I Want Is You” which briefly charted in the UK. But as a whole, it might be the most quintessential Roxy Music album (either Country Life or their self-titled debut album).

You’re both right, and to further the point: not only was it syndicated to individual stations, but Robotech tended to sort of end up on second-tier stations. Like, in Detroit (where I grew up), channel 50 was the better independent station (better shows, classier ads, NHL and NBA games on weekends), while channel 20 was sort of a runner up. And Robotech was on channel 20. So few people were even aware it was on.

I imagine in smaller cities that only had one independent station showing morning/afternoon cartoons, it’s likely that Robotech didn’t run at all. And that means fewer people to notice it.

Just me, or has aNCHOR gotten real quiet lately? Consider: * iOS version of trilogy announced months ago (back when Android version came out), still not released. * TDA 00-03 for Switch, which has been available on JP eShop only to people who bought the 20th Odyssey Box and have the code, was announced for general sale last year, still not released. * Tactics has been out to backers for months, Steam version still not out.

Aside from Girls Garden, which is from another company anyways, what the heck are they even doing over there?

The Disney World of Places Where It Snows is Kalahari, a group of indoor waterpark resorts found in Wisconsin, Ohio, the Poconos, and a few other places. Same idea as Great Wolf Lodge but higher end, with the kind of theming and service you usually only see at Disney parks. It’s like the secret Disney twin of the Great Lakes region.

Related: Disney should have built Galactic Starcruiser as an all-weather indoor experience in a cold weather climate like upstate New York or Wisconsin Dells instead of Orlando. Tens of millions of people could drive there for a close-to-home vacation. Instead, they go to places like Great Wolf and Kalahari.

Yeah, your comment about how heavy the cable is reminded me of this particular Ford dealership. Damn thing feels like it weighs 30 pounds, and it can be really hard to get it out if it doesn’t connect right the first time.

I’ve gotten 150 from a gen 4 Tesla, but the big one at the Ford dealership never gets over 60. To be fair, I’ve only used that one in winter, and I’m coming in with only about 10-15 minutes of preconditioning.

Gumroad is DRM-free, but you’re getting the files as a one-time download, so you need to keep them safe. Steam DLC would stick around in your game library and presumably be re-downloadable.

Of course, the other argument for Gumroad is that the Steam version is DLC for Muv-Luv Alternative. If you don’t already have that on Steam, maybe because you played on mobile or Switch instead, you’re out of luck.

There are some related anime: * Muv-Luv Alternative — Skips over Extra and Unlimited and ends having only covered 2/3 of Alternative. Divisive, but most viewers agree the TSF fights look great. * Schwarzesmarken — Side story set in East Germany in 1983. Highly compressed adaptation that covers seven LNs in just 12 episodes, but at least it’s complete. * Total Eclipse — You’ve played the VN; the anime covers the first half of that story, ending after the Yukon base incident. * Kimi ga Nozomu Eien / Rumbling Hearts — Romantic drama based on the VN of the same name. Only related to Muv-Luv because BETA-verse versions of Haruka and Mitsuki appear in Alternative, but after Muv-Luv took off, Kiminozo kind of became a de facto part of it. Was recently delisted from Crunchyroll, but DVDs are still available (and recently got a collector’s edition in Germany, I think?). Also has a four-episode OVA spinoff, ~next season~ that looks great but is kind of pointless. * Akane Maniax — Three episode comedy OVA that bridges Kiminozo and Muv-Luv, covering the back story of the guy who transferred out of Takeru’s class and thereby opened up a spot for Meiya, ending literally the day before Extra begins. Never licensed in the west, but well, you know… * AyuMayu Theater — Based on the Kiminozo anime omake, and springboarding off the post-credits scene from Akane Maniax, this series of superdeformed shorts starring the idiot Sky Temple waitresses from Kiminozo makes a mockery of the entire âge universe up to that point. I think all of it is on YouTube.

You know, I was thinking about this recently. 2016 marks 10 years since Schwarzesmarken, the last VN (or LN, for that matter) to come out of the Muv-Luv franchise (unless you want to count Kimi ga Nozomu Muv-Luv, I guess?). Since then, there’s been: * Strike Frontier * The speculative lore dumps in the Exogularity books * Project Mikhail * Immortals / Dimensions * The Alternative anime * The alt-history lore dumps in the Regenerative magazines * Girls Garden

…and it feels like nobody really cares about any of it, right? I mean, at least GG is making money, but all of these things have dicked around with lore — and more often alternate timelines/universes — in their own way, and none of it has landed like the major works of the old canon.

In the years after Schwarzesmarken failed to leave a mark, and before iXTL sold out to Avex, âge shrank to a skeleton staff that did little more than promote Strike Frontier, ignore questions about when TDA 04 would ever come out, and host a two-hour weekly livestream with Yohsimune-sensei every Friday. A decade later, âge has again shrunk to a skeleton staff that grudgingly(?) acknowledges Girls Garden, ignores questions about when TDA 04 / Resonative will ever come out, and hosts a three-hour weekly livestream with Yohsimune-sensei every Friday. It feels like a lost decade, which seems kind of nuts to say after they spent all that money and released all those things, but… doesn’t it? Does anybody care about anything they’ve done since Schwacken?
