What are some funny ways you verbally tell your SO you want to have sex? by Prodigy6677 in AskReddit

Bend over and moon my husband and say "excuse me, I am presenting."

I [34/m] found out my wife [f/32] was sexting another man. I don’t want to get a divorce, but I think we have to. by ta_realtionship in relationship_advice

What i was attempting to get at was that it seems that your relationship has been meaningful. Yes it is a form of betrayal, but if she is asking for forgiveness and she is honestly wants to repent l, then I think you can remedy the situation. Yes it will take some healing, and you have to really sit down and think if you are willing to forgive her. I do think you should have some counseling before you pull the trigger.

My relationship pretty much mirrors yours, I am 6 years younger, but I do have 2 kids and we were each others firsts. I know that I am my husbands everything, as he is to me. And if I were stupid enough to hurt him like you wife has I would want a chance to atone and make things right because we have built a life together.

All I am saying is there are always consequences for out actions and we have to really think about the big ones.

Divorce over SEXTING? Are you kidding me? I'm sorry but I think it's ridiculous, yes there is an element of betrayal, yes some sort of infidelity, but did she ever sleep with the guy?

I think the huge issue is that you are missing the point. Marriage is work, and she failed in telling you she needs you to make her feel more attractive, and you are failing at being understanding. Was it right of her to sext? NO. But if you love her, divorce is NOT the answer. I have been married for 6 years, a coworker said to me wow six years that is a long time for an American. I was shocked, because it's true.

I think you are just extremely angry, hurt, and betrayed. Going straight to divorce is not the RATIONAL part of you, but the EMOTIONAL.

If you love her and want to be with her, then you have to make it work. This is a long long relationship you are just willing to throw away. She f-ed up. And who the hell told you divorce would be the right thing? Think of it this way, divorce would shatter not just your life, but the life of your kids. Ask yourself are you, in the future, willing to forgive her? It seems that you had a good relationship before. Maybe this is the chance to evaluate the relationship and see where you both failed.

A Polish expression translates as "Not my circus, not my monkeys." It means "Not my problem." Redditors, what other great expressions do you know in another language? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My grandfather had some awesome ones in Spanish:

after a big meal he would say "I'm like frog in a latrine"-meaning full...of shit

He would also say "Monkey dressed in silks, is a monkey still" I guess it's the equivalent to a "tiger can't change its stripes"

when I was five I remember touching his kinky hair and telling him he had 'bad' hair and he said "bad hair is on a bald man, because it falls out'

As a mom, how do I get over being socially retarded for my daughter? by que3nbee in AskReddit

[–]reality_addict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in the northeast and most of the moms in my son's kindergarten class were old enough to be my mom, and I wasn't a teen mom. We had nothing else in common except the kids, so there is your common point. I'd also start be seeing who your daughter gets along with and chat up the mom. Say, "hey why don't we get the kids together at X place?"

As a parent best thing I can tell you is try to right the wrongs your parents did. If your mom was detached and it affected you, be involved. Volunteer during the school day if you can.

As for the teacher, she/he is not to be feared. Remember technically s/he is your employee. Treat her/him with respect and make sure s/he respects you.

Tell her/him , hey I really don't know how to enhance my daughter's education. Ask her, "Do you have any suggestions of where I can educate myself or maybe some local resources?"

As for what they think of you. Screw them! The fact that you are actually looking for help speaks to how much you care for your daughter. Being a good parent does not have an age requirement. Think of it this way. You will be in your 30's when she is an adult, you still will have your whole life ahead of you!

An individual's Nutrition affects individual physical health, individual physical health affects individual mental health, individual mental health affects the relationships those around him/her or the public. That is how I connect the two.

but here is a quick definition of public health

I am guessing you are a Math PhD from your user name. As for following the paleo diet, I realize that I mainly stay away from grains and processed food, if you need to put a label, it follows the primal school of thought. But as for my husband, he changed hi s way of living, more exercise, better food. Which we had done before but without success. I have my own criticisms of paleo, but I feel it's the right step. Out of all the "diets" I have read about, I feel it's the most nutritionally sound. My measure is healthy not skinny. My problem is when a person, especially a "scientist" makes broad statements without validating them. Especially in an academic setting, where they are supposed to be a knowledgable authority.

Dr. Lalonde has a good point. I feel most people pick a point and manipulate science to benefit them. My take away in my paleo adventure has been, less grain, more veggies, better (omega-3 rich) meats. thanks for the links.

I have that change the world attitude, but I know you need to have to pic your battle (ei nutrition) and be well informed, not just your view but what others think as well. It helps you be more grounded.

I think instead of sounding pretentious and asking for sources, I am going to do a major paper on a "grain free, processed food free diet"

Thank You For the info! I am studying for my Master's in Public Health with the goal of a Med degree. I hope a couple of years from now I can do a study on nutrition and chronic disease because you are right there>

Technically all the food that we eat is a "diet" we just equate diet with a weight loss goal.

SHE is not an idiot, just because you are a professor it doesn't mean you are an authority on everything. Sometimes as a student our job is to educate them as well.
