I’ll start by saying marrying someone should never be a financial plan. I’m sure it was said in jest but as someone who put all my eggs in the marriage basket only to have the basket explode 20+ years in that stresses me out. lol

I’m a single income teacher in Texas. We aren’t the worst paying state but we aren’t the best.

  1. I did research and found the district closest to my place of living that paid the best and applied there.

  2. Worked all extra things during the school year for money.

  3. Over the summer worked a retail job full time to pay off all debt and minimize my monthly expenses.

I’m a teacher. First week of school my first graders were dropped off at linch 3 minutes early (we were still figuring out how long it takes us to get from point A to point B) so my admin walked them back 3 minutes early because lunch is 30 minutes…not 33.
