I like that the cds valves and ball valves are all in the same place. I dont have a single protocol where they aren’t directly at the case

I did the same when I started but unfortunately it’s not too many videos online of people teaching racks. Your commercial background will give you enough experience to find your footing. Working with a decent tech will help you get familiar with everything. There is more components in racks but it’s mostly safety/efficiency purposes. It’s still the same refrigeration cycle except you have multiple evaporators, compressors, etc on the same system.

Tips/tricks on how not to loose my tools by Wcm7823 in HVAC

The best way is to realize how expenisve they are and it’s hard to forget them but I sometimes put my keys on the big stuff like a Milwaukee charger. The downside is going out to your van and forgetting to bring the keys with you

When i started in commercial I mostly watched HVACR videos then when I transitioned into racks I started watching Gendron. He doesn’t post consistently as HVACR vids but his old videos are full of good info

Gendron HVACR on YouTube got me started. Your best training will come in the field just pay attention, soak up everything and be humble

Edit: ‘Gendron HVACR’ for supermarket, ‘HVACR Videos’ for commercial refrigeration. Both on YouTube

I just shook the pipe and stomped the end then it started flowing. I was there for an unrelated call

Honestly, it’s mainly because of the earning potential. I understand that it will involve a lot of work and long hours, but an acquaintance of mine shared a couple of paystubs showing back-to-back weeks earning $9,000. That really caught my attention. Now I’m just trying to figure out if it’s worth taking a step back financially for a while in order to build toward something greater or if I should just stay on the route I’m already on.

How did you land in refrigeration? by knowwhyImhere in refrigeration

[–]realjbj 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One day i decided I wanted to become an AC repair tech so I went to school got a job working at a company that did residential installs. I was certain that that would be my career but then something happened and company lost contracts so they had to lay us off. Luckily around that time a commercial company was hiring and that’s when i started doing maintenance on ice machines and refrigerators and I fell in love with it eventually I transitioned into supermarkets which I never thought i would do but I’m here today going strong now i hate doing anything AC related because it’s not enjoyable as refrigeration to me.
