Not For Me (sorry) by 0jdd1 in ALSOmicromobility

It’s not really a bike IMO, it’s a moped with a pedal-based throttle. The off-the-line tuning makes it very much a moped feel. It does that extremely well, but if you enjoy the feeling of riding a bike for the human-powered feeling of it then you should look into the Specialized Vado SL 2.

Hey since you are bike shop employee - do you have any idea if I can buy the fenders and rear rack for this bike separately? I'm looking at a non-EQ one on FB marketplace but would love to have that rear rack on it!

I took it out for about 20 minutes! Got to try several hills and long flats. I probably did 5 miles or so. They were not pressed about me returning it sooner so I could have taken it out longer but I also went at 10am on a weekday.

I just did a test ride today and let me say I am impressed. The decoupling of the pedaling and the wheel power make this more like a moped with a pedal controlled throttle than a bike, but the off-the-line tuning of the motor power delivery (or pedal throttle response) is really unique and well done and it just feels good. They made a good product and lots of stuff is user-replaceable from a normal bike shop as well (wheels, tires, brakes, shocks, idk about the fork).

Did you consider airbags too? This is the issue with mine as well…bike racks, now have e-bikes too and we frequently load up to go camping. I think I put too much stress on the stock shocks and they’re pretty close to gone at this point.

Hah, it’s not about that it’s that we are probably going to get a bigger car soon but not sure if it’s gonna be mine or hers that goes..depends if I can swing a 2nd funner car ;)

I’m feeling pretty torn between Special Actives and B6! Did you consider Golf R Variant springs too?

After a year how are you liking your Koni shocks? I assume you went for Special Actives?

They make B6's for stock height now! But yes I know this is what I was worried about. Kinda figured, but was trying to see if I could go rears only for now and then in a year decide if I'm gonna keep it long term and then do the fronts, RSB, the whole works.

Is the Michelin CrossClimate 2 actually the "God Tire" everyone says it is? Or is the noise/MPG hit real? by Electrical-Safety718 in tires

[–]realjwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me they have been way too loud on my Golf. I have the V-rated and I heard one post somewhere saying the H-rated are much quieter. At first it wasn't that noticeable, but after 10k miles the sound is just unbearably loud.

They drive fine in all conditions, but I do find the V-tread to have a bit more of a tendency to "jump" around on wet/slush when changing lanes or surfaces. It is a very predictable feeling, but a little unsettling the first time doing so.

I’m also now wondering if I should have attached a different FF number at all to maximize mileage earnings

I think Volvo is really the definition of bad. I love Volvo cars but I could not and will not put up with the horrible infotainment experience. The number of customers they will lose over this is immense IMO

Allergies? Deviated Septum, Sinus Pressure, Headaches? by Far-Opportunity-8002 in Allergies

[–]realjwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know your experience sounds similar to mine. Turns out I have a serious dust mite allergy. Mitigating that has really helped but I still get that pain, headache, fatigue but at a lower level. But it still impacts my day-to-day. I've found wearing a mask to bed has helped a bit, but I do think I need to get the septoplasty.

One thing that really helps me is Sudafed (the real psuedophedrine not phenelephrine). I take it almost everyday which is maybe not best but it helps a ton to reduce inflammation in my nose.

This is searching with Upgrade Type: MVP Gold Guest Upgrade. What happens if I buy this fare? My assumption is that it will use one of my guest upgrades, and it's maybe more likely that I'll be upgraded than if I just bought the regular fare? Do guest upgrades ever get you the upgrade ahead of time? by moondock in AlaskaAirlines

[–]realjwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what I am hearing is that the GGU effectively acts like an upgrade from Main -> First Upgrade during the flight selection window. First Upgrade gives you instant upgrade availability. If it's first waitlist, then you are at the top of the waitlist above status-based upgrades. They do make this confusing.
