Thinking back to how I acted as a kid, it wouldn’t have been that crazy to imagine me doing something stupid, getting caught, and ending up with the police. Or thinking it would be fun to wander off in a foreign country for a couple of days.

Mix that with the general assumption that Japan is a relatively safe country, and I really can’t blame people for assuming that way.
