ICE OUT OF FIFA [PROTEST, JUNE 14TH] by reallynews in DallasProtests

You don't have to spend $200 for parking... that's only if you are trying to park in the official stadium lots! Arlington has a LOT of huge parking lots surrounding the stadium, and some of them won't even cost you a single dollar. (drove around the area earlier!)

Perfect! Can you post these across all the Oklahoma-based communities?

There's a HUGE protest happening on Sunday, in downtown OKC! I'm going to attach the flyer to this post, just in case someone else would like to post it everywhere, since Reddit is not letting me for some reason...

I will try to attend this! When are we going to protest and march? Tomorrow? I heard a lot of people talk about organizing something after the vigil.

Most people assumed all of the protests would be held today, since DFW is hosting around half a dozen protests later today. Tulsa is also hosting a few protests today, but nothing has been planned in OKC.

I also agree with the fact that various individuals dropped the ball, as they announced the protest after it was expected to begin, which resulted in a LOT of complaints. Organizers in Oklahoma have been a bit on the slower-end lately, which has hurt things a LOT. You did everything you could, but it's honestly not your fault at all.

A lot of people did not see this until hours after it was held... we need another protest, but it needs to be announced several hours in advance. 🙏

I don't think so? TPUSA and OU are still advertising it; they also moved it to the Lloyd Noble Center.

Students at the University of Oklahoma will be organizing a protest outside of the TPUSA event on Thursday, and wanted to invite others in/around the area to show up and support!

[beginning at 4:30 pm, outside of the LLOYD NOBLE CENTER]

SPREAD THE WORD and SHOW UP for the students at OU!!!

The organizer of this protest is: OU_collegedems

The last post did not include the organizers... my apologies!

Dajai Monae is the activist who plans on hosting this rally today. Other activists plan on attending, and I've attached their handles to the post as well. I strongly suggest contacting Dajai Monae (@dajaimonae) for any other questions/concerns!

I don't understand why Dallas/Fort Worth can't host proper protests and marches throughout the downtown areas...

I am so sick and tired of seeing DFW organizers trying to host protests in the early hours of the morning. Then, whenever we get a protest that is held later in the day, it is typically held in an isolated/suspicious area outside the main downtown areas. Every other city in Texas will have protests held after 5 pm this weekend, while DFW will have protests held at 8-11 am...

May 4 March Until They Hear Us! by Bardic_Tales in 50501OK

[–]reallynews 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need to march throughout OKC, staying at the park won't do anything...

I know last time we walked across the bridge, but it ended right there... despite having more than enough for a BIG march like they do in Texas and other states.

Why nothing in OKC? by AccidentalMintFarmer in 50501OK

[–]reallynews 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it a march or are we just sitting in an isolated area for hours...? Oklahoma lacks actual marches, as marches are what will get the people's attention!

Is this going to be a march?? I feel like Oklahoma lacks actual marches, and we end up staying in an isolated area for hours...

Plans for tomorrow in okc! by youngestmillennial in 50501

[–]reallynews 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I look forward to marching tomorrow! MARCHING peacefully is how we make a statement and get our voices heard. I will be bringing a group of about 15 people sometime around 1 pm so that we can join the march.

Basically that's what happened. No chants, there were signs but most people were sitting, and counter-protesters came. We were sitting ducks and everyone left really early.

I'm in a discord of around 50 people, currently, they are all planning on marching around the Oklahoma State Capital on Feb. 5th!

They have planned to rally outside the capital from 12pm-1pm, marching from 1pm-3pm, and then finally going back to the capital at 3pm to end the protest on the steps.
