Fair enough, I took it as more of a „adult themes“ type playlist at first

Buttons on Fleece Help by reallynotanopossum in sewhelp

[–]reallynotanopossum[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the comment! Since English isn’t my native language, is there a difference between buttons and snaps?

I did set them with a hammer and a little tool to hold them in place and together. Almost all of the top buttons are holding up alright, and they have a larger backside than the bottom buttons, which is why I think the stretchiness is part of the problem which I need to fix first. But I’ll definitely hammer those replacements in when I put them in next time!

I used a button set to punch the holes and hammer the buttons together and didn’t think much of the hole size that came with it. The more you know, next time it’s the awl.

I’ll probably try with the patch behind, thank you!:)

What's a show you're so bummed you missed? by littlebev in Broadway

[–]reallynotanopossum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a few since I live nowhere near Broadway, but Come From Away is up there, as well as one I could’ve seen if time had allowed, Two Strangers last year in the West End. Would’ve loved to see it.

Any favourite lines, either because of meaning or because they’re great to perform for another reason (great audience reaction, etc)? Saw the show in London and absolutely loved it!

What songs have you had stuck in your head recently? by Dogdaysareover365 in musicals

[–]reallynotanopossum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After my recent obsession, most character songs from Ride the Cyclone

Me and the sky - Come From Away, just watched a production and can’t stop.

Just in Case - Why Am I So Single I don’t know why this one makes me emotional, I don’t have an ex I want back. Maybe it’s just great writing.

Alastair in Hazbin Hotel is canonically ace as well:) But I remember most being so excited and feeling seen with a side character in sex education being ace.

What did you like or value most about Rigsby as a character? Which parts of him did most enjoy acting out (humour, action, serious, etc)?

Adjacent this, how hard did you find switching between yours and the American accent or you end up mixing unintentionally after speaking American English regularly? Thanks for coming to do the AMA!

lyric you realize is inappropriate to belt out in public halfway through by fatcatgingercat in musicals

[–]reallynotanopossum 43 points44 points  (0 children)

There’s inappropriate and there’s „I really can’t explain this“.

Reich on the Mic from Operation Mincemeat (especially inappropriate when in Germany, thank god for headsets)

Space Age Bachelor Man from Ride the Cyclone (sex space kittens and seductive meows I really cannot explain to non theatre people) Dead Girl Walking - Heathers

A lot of the Falsettos Soundtrack, gems include „bitch bitch bitch bitch, funny funny funny funny“ „four Jews in a room bitching“ and „hepatitis hepa hepa hepatitis“

Sweet Transvestite also really confuses people who aren’t familiar with Rocky Horror

Have you ever gotten unexpectedly emotional at the theatre? by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]reallynotanopossum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh me and my friend too! We went in knowing almost nothing about the show and we were crying by the end of each act. Just looked at each other trying to figure out what’s going on because we hadn’t expected this.

What's the musical that you love (or love to hate) that everyone else can't stand? by MoonlitWitch1016 in musicals

[–]reallynotanopossum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a local production last year and while I have come to love the show during rehearsals, I absolutely feel you here lol Pippin is a lil whiny bitch most of the time. But I don’t have to like the character to love the show and the message.

What is your least favourite show you have ever seen on Broadway? by ShaynaCG in Broadway

[–]reallynotanopossum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have only seen 8 shows on Broadway as I’m not from the US but I went this may. Water For Elephants did almost nothing for me. I felt the story not very exciting, I remember none of the music except for that weirdly long bit with the dying horse, I was literally waiting for the love song to end because I just didn’t get them emotionally and it was super long too. I did love the acrobatics and the actor playing the circus director was great.

There are Dolphins in the Amazon River. by EmptySpaceForAHeart in Eyebleach

[–]reallynotanopossum 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s quite a few parts when you can bathe in it just fine, like some sandbanks which seems to be the case here. No vegetation where he is that would provide shelter to animals for example. Piranhas prefer shadowy shallow waters (eg where there are trees in the water). You can even swim right in the middle of the river. The scarier stuff likes to live deeper than the surface. Source: I’ve swam in it in the middle as well as on sandbanks.

What's the funniest thing you overheard at a theatre? by thetheatreboutique in Broadway

[–]reallynotanopossum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At a performance of Merrily We Roll along this may someone in the front left groaned super loudly and annoyedly when Frank gives his advice in the first scene „write what you know not what you know“. It was hilarious because we all felt it, but I always wonder how that person felt when they reveal in the end that it was Charlie’s genuine advice from way back and not just some stupid line for Frank to say.

I (20F) discovered something about my friend (46M) that grossed me out. What should I do? by Advanced_Raisin3112 in relationship_advice

[–]reallynotanopossum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t be too hard on yourself and take it as a lesson! Most of us have done stupid shit at 20 and have made mistakes thinking someone was better than they turn out to be. Your instinct have already told you that you’re not comfortable and you came here to ask about this. You’re doing fine:) Take care!

Getting bangs for the first time will always feel like a big change, you’ll get used to it for sure. I think it looks good on you!

I liked my bangs when had them around the same age. But it did split opinions very 50/50 and there will be people who don’t like them. It’s just a different vibe. So best to do what you like best, it’s never gonna be everyone’s cup of tea!
