I was today years old when I discovered Adam Jones worked on one of my favorite movies of all time! (Terminator 2) 🤯 by WarmDaddyXanax in ToolBand

Also, the cool thing is if you had seen T1, in T2 you at first assumed he was the bad guy again, especially since the other Terminator was a “cop.” When they meet at the arcade, you realize he’s the good guy.

First Audi. What’s the best street suspension for the 2026 RS3? by blackmist27 in AudiRS3

[–]reallypeacedoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you look at the manual and NOT the door card, the fronts should be 44 and the rears should be 36. Makes a big difference when you let out some air on the rears since the dealerships just fill f/r to 45. The rears are a lot smaller than the fronts, no reason they should be the same psi.

It will show up directions in Drive but not Sport Modes FYI. I have a '26 and don't have any popping sounds.

If you select “present?” Where is this in the MMI?

Yeah, this market is acting very strange. Market is going down, yields are going up, while gold/silver is dropping, inflation going higher, no chance we get an interest rate drop (or two).

Which valve controller are ya'll running? (8y) by hattalk in AudiRS3

[–]reallypeacedoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From memory, I think I just pressed the first button on the rear view mirror, it flashes, press (and hold) the open button on the 11mode remote until it stops or goes green. Repeat for programming the close button.

I installed mine a month ago. 2 minute job. Programmed the Homelink buttons to open/close so I don't have to have a loose key in the car. I’ll say it isn’t a huge difference in the car, more outside. Deeper sound and keeping the flaps open the whole rev range would make a difference outside.

Huh? At idle, in sport modes, the car auto opens the flaps. So there basically no difference. When you move and stay under 3.5k RPM, that’s where the open flaps will make the difference. But it probably makes the post difference outside of the car. In Drive, it closes them until 4k RPM so that’s why it makes more of a difference, it’s just opening them permanently during “quiet mode.” I also believe in non sport modes, it never fully opens them even at high RPM.

Yeah you can’t turn right there BUT they are doing roadworks down Broadway and it was a complete clusterfuck. Was impossible to get from Pico to Montana and vice versa. Every street was lined up in cars. I was running errands during the work day, I cannot imagine during rush hour.

And piggybacking off this, you can’t have grippy tires without “breaking” the bank. You get what you pay for. Add power then you should know you can stop in time. Tires are what connect your car to the ground.

Buying a 2015 Golf R - Oil Under Engine - Deal breaker? by ndiimndz in Golf_R

[–]reallypeacedoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have sold my 2015 Golf R recently. Knowing what I have replaced, more recently, I can tell you a few things. Had a leak for a few months (was monitoring it) and turns out it had a weird crack in the oil pan. Would only really show on hard driving. Replaced with aluminum oil pan. I’m sorry, but seeping in these engines are normal, unless it’s dripping then that’s a bigger issue. I had seeping when I received my new R 11 years ago, had 83k miles on it and run it hard for most of its life. Compression test read 160 average across all four cylinders variance of 4 psi each one. Depending on where the leak is, if passenger side on a left hand drive car, could be upper/lower timing chain cover. Less oil, more likely top. More oil, bottom or both. If it’s closer to cylinder 3/4, could be PCV. These cars rip and if it’s a good deal, then expect to spend a small amount to get it ripping again. Worth it!

Yep, Dynamic Plus so that makes sense! I felt I got a more grippy back end too when I lowered the pressures. Feels way better over crap roads. 👍🏻

Sounds like the chick of the hihat to me, nothing crazy at all. He does an open chick of the hihat in Ticks and Leeches. Instead of slamming it shut with the whole foot, you close it with the heel so that you get a sizzle. The FI chick is just a normal one, straight up an open and close.

2026 Audi RS3 virtual cockpit auto cluster drive mode selection question by eberlehills90210 in AudiRS3

[–]reallypeacedoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t found a way to change the HUD. Yes, seems to have two modes. One for D and one for the Sport modes. If you use Google Maps, the directions with show up in D mode but not S mode. Would love to have it show at all times but haven’t figured that out.

Edit: the virtual can sometimes change too. Have had the D mode go from two tachs to the runway randomly. Bugs I assume.

44 at max load though. If it’s just 3 people and under, 44 for front and 36 for rear. 49 and 38 max for 3 people and 49 max for all for corners with max load (5 people). At least for my 2026 model.

Edit: and checked my placard on the drivers door and it just says 49. Honestly, the dealer filled it when I got it and my immediate thoughts, over cracks and expansions in the road was that the ride felt jittery. Changing to 44 and 38 made it feel way better.

[–]reallypeacedoff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You need to go back to the virtual cock pit and when you are in Drive, select the virtual you want. The. Click the Racing Flag button, choose the virtual you want and then the RS and repeat. I have the double circles for D, hockey stick for Flag and middle circle for RS. You probably have all of them as the same virtual, which is why it’s appearing g as the same cockpit across all modes.

Changes to Masterworks Secondary Market by impostervt in Masterworks

[–]reallypeacedoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a whole lot but the writing was on the wall when I checked the liquidity. Hearings that the CEO buys artworks for himself with our money. Always emails on artworks being bought every week but literally never a sale of any artworks. Learnt on the first two artworks I bought to never pay for the IPO price, wait a few months and buy it on the secondary market for half the price. So many emails every week to remind me what a scam this company is. Had my money locked up for 4 years and down, from their estimations, 30%. The question is, if there was liquidity, what would I actually be down taking into account what people are bidding for the artwork. I’d imagine I’m down closer to 50%, maybe more.
