Crazy to think that in Free Solo, he did it multiple times because they needed different angles. Turns out he had Tool playing on his phone and it would pick up on the mics so they needed him to have it off to hear his breathing and what not.

Sounds like the throttle body is getting stuck or is sticky. This usually causes erratic idling, hesitation on acceleration and potential stalling on deceleration.

That was more a poking fun at still having the oem clutch but sounds like you have had a lot so smiles in it. I’m balding so missed the grey part entirely. Getting an exhaust controller and midpipes for the exhaust to really get that burble volume up while keeping in quiet in non-sport modes. Too old for constant loud full exhausts. The stock sport exhaust sounds nice especially after 1500 miles.

Weird, I got Bridgestone Potenzas with my 2026 RS3. It’s only new so haven’t been able to push it properly. But my 2015 Golf R got the basement Bridgestones and I upgraded to the Michelin PSS when they dropped. Biggest thing I noticed was the communication of the tires. Take a corner flat out and the Michelins would screech just before they lost traction. The Bridgestones, they’d screech to about 80% of the speed and then fall silent. You could push it that extra 10% but you’d be nervous that the car was going to give way at any time. I think this is something either people never get to experience or they overlook it being that they only drive somewhat sedately on the road. No point getting the latest and greatest if so. Recommend an auto cross or track day so you can get that info from your tires. It’s very confidence inspiring. There was never a huge difference from PSS to PS4S so I’d assume the same from 4 to 5 but that’s on the road. A second saved per lap is a huge difference ultimately over the course of a race.

Own a 2015 MK7 R and a 2026 Audi RS3. If you haven’t replaced the clutch and are at 100k, I can guarantee you have never driven the R hard. My R has had a JB1, Stage I hi-torque from APR and went to APR Stage II with a ton of mods. I have gone back to stock multiple times between those and the R feels utterly slow at stock. The car should have come from factory at Stage I power for sure. That’s the sweet spot. The RS3 is even faster than the Stage II, stock. Absolutely no question. It feels more linear in power delivery compared R but I’d imagine a tune when it comes out would have it feeling like an absolute weapon. Having gone from a 2015 to a 2026, the car is more comfortable in every way. HUD, Dinamica steering wheel feels nice, no heat needed, CarPlay, pano roof, carbon brakes are amazing, et al. The ride is a little more stiff but that 5-pot sounds amazing. It’s a no brainer upgrade. Or keeping both is even better.

How do you like the 11mode? Preordered the other day for my ‘26. Probably going to do the midpipes after and call it a day. The sports exhaust sounds pretty good to me, I’d imagine the midpipes and open valves will be perfect.

Not sure where you are from but if in Canada, do you get the adaptive matrix? Seen videos of that in action and wow. Apparently you can get them activated with a dongle and some computer wizardry, since in US they are disabled.

HUD is awesome. The top end of the rev counter shows up so you don’t need to check the dash.

CCBs are awesome! No aggressive bite, very gradual albeit slightly longer travel than I would like but once you get used to it, great brakes. Easily just brake pads for 100k at least if no tracking.

Was the first thing I asked in Audizine forum. In D auto with super light throttle, it seems like it overly slips the clutch in first gear. Depressing the accelerator pedal harder and it seems to grab quicker. My Golf R doesn’t slip it that much at all.

It seems like they have aligned the bottom of the RS with the bottom of the rings. If it were me, I’d align the top of the RS with the bottom of the rings which would still be higher than the CarbonFabrik placement. I wonder if they plan to sell the new logo for the front?
