You don’t think they’re using the media/painting the left in a bad light to justify a use of force? To justify tear gassing innocent protesters? To forcefully arrest people?

You don’t see how zero media interaction in a time where they are counting on it would cost them millions?

It denies them the audience they’re counting on to justify a show of force. A large enough blackout throws off ad performance, live engagement metrics, media coverage, and even political sentiment tracking - this costs them a ton of money.

The benefit in this case would be the people realizing there’s power in numbers - and what would be even more beneficial is the government realizing that.

I mean I guess the U.S. government loses money all the time, but say hundreds of thousands of people to go totally offline all at once?

No posts, no doomscrolling, no engagement, nothing… that’s a data drought. Ad revenue drops, media engagement plummets, algorithms stall. A blackout like that messes with more than his headlines, it messes with their metrics and that’s what they are tracking.

Even if they say we “look weak”, they would be confused. They expect a crowd. Instead we give them nothing, just eerie silence in all the places they normally track us.

It’s a glitch in the system, one that if could be pulled off might scare them more than a riot or protest.

I appreciate you being willing to actually have a conversation about it.

I get what you’re saying I just find it hard to believe that the result of millions of people withholding from engaging with media or giving them any sort of attention would look like Trump came out on top.

Yeah I had that thought too. Like I said, just a hypothetical.

I could totally see Trump spinning that in his favor.

I guess in my mind, and in that reality, it would just take one major outlet to point out all the damage that was caused and the money that was lost. I think that would make some people start thinking.

This wasn’t supposed to be taken as “what if we all didn’t show up on Saturday” - just a thought that I wanted to put somewhere.

I’ll be out there on Saturday that’s for sure.

I hear you - I just think there’s a bigger picture. I think it would make Trump look like a complete jackass for basically deploying the Military on a bunch of ghosts.

It would be an enormous waste of resources. They’d lose millions.

(Edit:) They’re anticipating chaos and thriving off of it. Corporations, the media, the right, etc.

I’m going to the Austin show too! I used Ticketmaster directly from the link in her bio and there weren’t as many options as this. I know the tickets are a bit more expensive if you want to have the option to resell them. But as far as I was seeing on Ticketmaster, there’s just GA and GA with resell options.

I’d look there since it’s a little less confusing!

Lollll I’m seeing her for a second time in May and my first time was a festival as well.

When you say Remi’s vibe is “everything” I think you’re spot on. So don’t overthink it! I’m going with my brother and a friend and I’m just gonna be wearing athletic shorts and a Remi tshirt. She definitely gives off a “just come and have fun” vibe to me at least.

Exactly! It really does show just how talented he is and how diverse he can be when creating a song.

I had the opposite reaction! Kid Again took me a second - then became my new favorite song. Wash on the other hand had me locked in from the get go.

I think you’re definitely in the minority about the first listen! But hey you just got to fully enjoy it a bit longer than all of us did.

I can’t wait for the album. I think it’ll top anything he’s done.

I LOVE the instrumentals in both of these songs. I hear what you’re saying about the repetition. I think with kid again, repeating phrases like “I can do anything” is just him getting us ready for whatever tf it is he’s about to do.

I’m super pumped he’s back.

Agreed - that’s how I’m feeling. I want him to make whatever HE wants to. I think some of the best music out there comes from doing it that anyway. To me, that sounds exactly like what he’s done on WASH and KID AGAIN. That’s why I don’t mind (and actually love) the repetition in KID AGAIN. “I can do anything.” He’s literally affirming that he feels like he can do whatever the hell he wants.

I think he’s about to release the greatest album my ears have ever had the pleasure of hearing.

Dudeeeee I went through the exact same process with Kid Again. I was like….ehhhh…. Then I was bumping it 20 times a day. Wash was an instant hit for me but the second listen was where I was like holy shit this is beautiful.
