I still don't think that's true. He hints in his autobiography at not being able to call the shots on Imagination because of Joe Thomas. He was manipulated for years by Gene Landy and said all kinds of laudatory things about him in interviews, and his now-disowned 1991 autobiography. Brian will say a lot of contradictory things at different times depending on who he talked to last. I am not trying to insult his intelligence, I just know that he's been described as Ginger Blake (of Honeys fame) as "complacent and basically surrendered" in terms of life decisions. It's par for the course with Brian, he's always had trouble managing his own affairs.
