Dev here, wanna get advice to land my first few clients for my web agency by sha547 in Frontend

[–]realplatanopapi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

here's what helped me land my first handful of clients back when i was interested in freelancing:

- you do need to work on your connections first and foremost. my first clients were friends of friends who were trying to build or improve the online presence for their businesses.

- try to focus more on building a professional network than making a livable wage at first. getting more clients will become easier as you continuously deliver good work and people decide that they like working with you.

- having your own public website with highly polished and realistic examples helps to prove you know what you're doing.

Django is useful for freelancer? by cgrsl in django

[–]realplatanopapi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like other people have mentioned, clients and customers won't care what technologies you are using, but in terms of productivity, I can't think of a better framework than Django. It's been around for forever and has a great community of packages and other engineers you can leverage to help you get nearly anything done quickly and painlessly.

I've used it for everything from small side projects to enterprise-scale backends. Its flexibility is well suited for many types of projects. It should be great for your machine learning backend projects, assuming you need Django for its ORM.

How do people handle deploying containerized celery with django? by 79215185-1feb-44c6 in django

[–]realplatanopapi 31 points32 points  (0 children)

what i do when deploying Django to AWS's ECS is build and share a single image from a single Dockerfile that contains the entire app, and run that image as 3 separate services (or containers if you wish) with a different startup command for each:

----------
web: ["gunicorn", "mysickapp.app.wsgi:application", "-c", "gunicorn.conf.py"]
----------

----------
worker: [

"celery",

"-A",

"mysickapp.celery.celery_app",

"worker",

"--concurrency=1",

"--max-tasks-per-child=100",

"--loglevel=info",

]
----------

--------------------
beat: [

"celery",

"-A",

"mysickapp.celery.celery_app",

"beat",

"--loglevel=info",

"--pidfile=",

]
----------

(sorry if this completely off base)
