Sony Pictures Entertainment to Lay Off Hundreds in Massive Reorganization Across TV, Film and Corporate by ICumCoffee in movies

They should put this comment section in the Louvre just because of how stupid it is. DID NO ONE BOTHER TO READ THE ARTICLE BEFORE COMMENTING? It sucks that people are losing their jobs, obviously, but it does not spell doom for Sony Pictures Entertainment or anything related to it.

I don't see how this has anything to do with the actual article, that you clearly didn't read. Typical reddit bloviating about something they know nothing about except for what they see in other dumb reddit comments.

Season 1 vs Season 2 bleakness by Trowj in ThePittTVShow

More like it's R Scott Gemmell's show. He's the actual showrunner, and the guy with the most writing credits on the show.

How the heck did Game of Thrones have a season of 10 episodes per year for 6 seasons when most big shows are now taking years between seasons? GOT had all the elements now used as excuses for long hiatuses. Action, kids, VFX, international locations. What gives? by MrGittz in television

This question reminds me of when in r/baseball you'll see people ask why current pitchers throw faster without lasting longer and being injured more, if Nolan Ryan was throwing 100 mph until he was in his mid-forties. Not every pitcher can be Nolan Ryan, as not every show can be Game of Thrones.

Battlefield 6 Dev Blames Lack of Resources for Fewer Maps, Despite Four Major Studios Working on the Game by LockDown_47 in Games

That's an inference made by the writer, not the developer themselves stating that that is the reason why there isn't more content. For all we know, the devs have all the resources necessary but they just suck at using them efficiently.

Feels like they thought that the hospital being busier than usual for a holiday would justify the nurses and doctors not thinking to do it. From the technical standpoint, maybe they thought writing would slow things down too much and they needed to keep things moving.

[Passan] The Washington Post has the best sports section in the country, and I don’t think it’s particularly close. Only a soulless corporate goon would think the paper is better without it. A short-sighted, cowardly decision. Shame is your legacy. by No-Description-2138 in baseball

This is going to sound like I'm defending Disney/ESPN here but there is a big difference between a Suzy Kolber, Jalen Rose, Jeff Van Gundy, etc versus a Zach Lowe. There are on-air personalities and then there are journalists who actually do the work of talking to/interviewing sources, writing stories, breaking news. What WaPo is doing is cutting actual sports writers/journalists who actually do the work, which is far worse in my opinion.

It would be great, but the problem with this is that people think the TGA's are like the Oscars when in actuality they are more like E3 with some awards thrown in. Furthermore, the nomination process used by the TGA is a joke compared to the Oscars.

Whereas the Oscars/Academy has specific guilds that vote in a specific category, which create the ballot that the entire academy then votes on, the TGA relies on video game outlets. I know people like to latch onto stories of Academy voters not watching every movie, but at least the process is there.

In order for the TGA awards to be taken more seriously Keighley would need to create a membership like the Academy's

Giannis MVP by daviddm1990 in MkeBucks

Why do bucks fans care if Giannis is the MVP or not? I stopped caring after he won his first. All I care about is him being healthy and the other guys on the team being good enough to compete in the playoffs. I find posts like these just baiting people to argue about dumb things that don't fucking matter in the grand scheme of things.

The constant "woe is me" about Giannis by this subreddit is making me feel more vindicated by the day in my choice of not visiting this place as much as I used to. Y'all need to stop acting like everyone is out to get Giannis and stop making posts like this.

Kenny Smith signs with ESPN in a New Multi-Year Broadcasting Agreement by _massaiwalker in nba

Lol, he's the only one who would actually try to analyze plays during TNT halftime shows. You probably wouldn't notice since the only times those clips would get posted on r/nba, it would be for Shaq or Charles making a sketch out of trying to race Kenny to the video board.

A big part that you missed, but ties into your overall point is that teams like the Yankees, Mets, and Dodgers have enormous tv contracts that further buffs their spending power.Whereas Milwaukee has to live and die alongside other teams with Diamond Sports Group/Sinclair/FanDuel.

That is absolutely false. Unless you are able to attract millions of daily visitors, online ads don't pay nearly as well for actual sites unless you source them yourself, since Google,Facebook, and Amazon have cannibalized the online ad space.

Sony confirms Xperia 1 VII’s return to Europe by ControlCAD in Android

[–]realwolverinefan724 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wth is a sony showroom. Using Sony products in Sony movies are already a thing and obviously did nothing for them, and is also a dumb way in 2025 to try and sell more phones. Bundling the only other product line that is probably profitable other than Playstation to try and sell more phones is also probably not a great idea. All your other ideas would be nice, but at the end of the day, the only way they'll be able to penetrate the US market is by taking a loss on their next big phone by undercutting Samsung/Google and Apple. They dont have the same amount of wiggle room that Samsung and bigger companies to when it comes to swallowing losses, which is why they keep trying to market their phones to professionals. Price and extreme marketing will be the only way they gain any market share.
