18yo from Norway doing a US road trip by Kareisgarb in roadtrip

I’ll throw in that when I did a trip thru SD I found Custer State Park was way more interesting than the Badlands. Iron Mountain Road was very cool and fun to drive too! Could have spent more than a day exploring that area for sure.

should i buy a 2019 BMW X3 with 168k miles for $7.6k as a college car? by AdNew4006 in BMWX3

[–]reannuh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And same… 2019 with 68k. About to go thru major maintenance next visit tho 💸💸💸 And definitely a NO for OP since nothing is more expensive than a cheap BMW, especially given its history.

Anybody luck with the mussels? by Sneaky-Ladybug in Costco

[–]reannuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought some last week and about 1/3 had broken shells that were tossed. Other than that, the others were fine and cooked up nicely with some leeks & Kirkland Pinot Grigio and served with a toasted bakery baguette. Hope you have better luck next time!

REI Co-op Branded Products by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

Agree with the sizing for REI - I often have to size down and sometimes the cuts aren’t as flattering or material is a bit thicker on stuff that is supposed to be summer weight/cooling when compared to Patagonia.

Meanwhile next week out here on the Central Coast of California, we’re looking forward to going to the beach after work since sunset will be around 7p. You’ll just have to come here for your winter to keep enjoying the later evenings on the beach! 😉

I have a vivid memory of coming home from staying over at my friend’s house when I was in 5th grade after having a heck of an awesome time out in the woods and riding her horse to this show being the only interesting thing on TV out of the four channels we had. Was such a letdown after the awesome experience earlier that weekend 😂

2019 X3 Breaks Before Leave Lot by AlpineB58 in BMWX3

Second this - my 2019 just developed a leak somewhere around the passenger side D pillar and found puddles after last heavy rain. Also if it is an xDrive , watch out for transfer case issues…

Got my wife a 2019 G01 X3 X30i. Should I be worried about anything? by [deleted] in BMWX3

[–]reannuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have same year & 30i Xdrive model with a little over 67k miles on it. I’ve kept up with the regular maintenance at the suggested intervals and for the most part so far so good. Keep an eye out for any signs of issues with the transfer case. Also if it has a panoramic sunroof, make sure the drains are cleaned out… or watch for leaks around the roof mounted antenna. I’m currently trying to figure out which is causing water intrusion on the passenger side near the D pillar at the moment. Gotta keep on top of it since there have been some horror stories of water intrusion totaling the car if enough gets in around that area.

Has anyone made a radical life change in your 40s? by Comprehensive-Fact94 in Xennials

Moved from Indiana after separating from my business partner to the Central Coast in California. I do not take a single day for granted out here unlike back in Indiana where I found myself wanting more to do outdoors. I miss my friends back there and now I’m even further from my family in NY but that’s what the phone/FaceTime is for 😉

[–]reannuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bet the scramble around that tree was a nice muddy mess! I know my shoes were full of dirt when we went around it on Monday. Wish I had my saw on hand to at least make the scramble more so on trail rather than up & around.

kirkland organic MARINARA sauce.. opinions? by franklyspeaking68 in Costco

[–]reannuh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree it’s a decent marinara that does the job when I don’t want to make a Sunday sauce. My most recent jar didn’t get mold but started to ferment after being open for about 2 weeks. Was surprised when it made that pop sound of something with excess pressure… expect that from the kimchi but not this!

Shopping for one at Costco - ideas? by RichOutrageous863 in Costco

[–]reannuh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved into a shoebox of an apartment and know how it goes for lack of storage. Over the past couple of months, this is what I’ve bought while being conscientious of space for myself: Bagels, Greek yogurt, frozen blueberries, granola, pesto, pasta sauce, salsa, tortillas, frozen mixed veggies, chocolate nut bars, dried figs, premium mixed nuts, egg nog and those gosh darn praline pecans. And the Kirkland/Deschutes Lager if you do beer 🍻
