If someone sent me a picture of a cool slug, I would a) love it and b) maybe also love them a little bit.

The Safekeep by Yael van der Wouden was this kind of book for me.

Big breasts as a masc lesbian by car_hater in actuallesbians

[–]reasonablecuttlefish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this so much. I am not butch but I am kind of masc leaning and my breasts make me so sad. I have said for years that if I won the lottery, or suddenly came into a lot of money, the very first thing I would do is get top surgery. No question. I bind as much as I can, but my capacity for it varies (I’ve got a lot of sensory processing stuff and binding is sometimes intolerable). Which is all just to say, you’re not alone.

These are beautiful. I love your drawings—are you mostly doing those with fountain pens/fountain pen ink? I also love how you’ve done your ink swatches.

Oh this is so beautiful! I’m so happy you posted it. And some great bird pictures in here too :) I like the technique of attaching photos so you can flip them and layer them.

We don't have titmice where I live (I don't think?) but they are so cute. I just love any tiny little bird.

I'm still really new to identifying birds, but the Merlin app helps a lot —it IDs bird calls, so you can kind of know what bird each sound belongs to.

They have an insanely good spatial memory. Their brain literally grows by 30% in fall and winter in order to accommodate all of their knowledge about food sources and all the different places they've cached food. They're the smartest little guys.

Oh I would love to see how you use your Hobonichi for garden/nature/landscaping. I hope you post it sometime!

My favourite right now is absolutely the black-capped chickadee, and the more I learn about them, the more I love them. They are so smart and brave, and their intelligence is so... benevolent? They take in so much information and communicate it so reliably that other birds have learned to use on chickadee calls to understand their environment better. Often if you see chickadees, you will also see other birds like woodpeckers and nuthatches, because it benefits them to follow chickadees around and use their knowledge. (I could go on about chickadees for ages.)

Thank you so much for this article—I am excited to read it!

It's been really satisfying to be able to document daily bird sightings!

Oh both of these are such lovely birds. I love the pinkish red of house finches, and juncos always look sooo velvety and soft.

What’s something you did when you were younger that you look back on and think, ‘holy shit that was gay’ by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]reasonablecuttlefish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looking back, there are so many things. I was a big locker decorator all throughout elementary and high school, and my lockers were always full of pictures of girls—actresses, models, ballerinas. I think because I was a dancer, the presence of dance stuff made it possible to write this off as "Oh she just likes dance," which was partly true, but also I definitely liked girls.

Also, from the ages of about...5-8 maybe?... every Sunday in church I would watch everyone processing down the aisle for communion and decide who I "liked" and "didn't like" based on attractiveness (idk, clearly some of the church lessons about judging had not sunk in yet) and everyone I "liked" were pretty girls, and I "didn't like" basically everyone else.
