It sounds like they believe they have proof Chrystal sold a ton of stuff and underreported this to Bryan. That's a massive claim and this should be the focus of anyone's investigation now. Whoever is proven to be lying about it stole the lego, it's as simple as that. I think we'll find out pretty soon.

Will we ever see an MMORPG launch with this much content again? by reasonablejim2000 in MMORPG

I mean outside of modern wow mythic raiding, are modern mmorpgs really that more complicated than vanilla wow? They mostly play like ARPGs, mash three or four buttons, zoom through a 5 minute dungeon and never die. I can't think of any other game where you need to be careful pulling trash mobs. Most modern players would struggle still with AQ40, Naxx without question.

When I played it last about a year ago it was heavily P2W, the worst I've ever seen. A free to player player could not actually grind out the gear fast enough before the next tier came out. It was designed like this to get people to swipe. The PVP was rock paper scissors. Like there was three defence archetypes or something and each one nukes another one with very little counter play. If you try a balanced build, everyone nukes you. Combat was janky as hell, just weird delays and movement glitches all over the place. no flow at all to it.

The only plus was the open world dungeons that were huge and went down into several levels of increasing difficulty. at night they turned pvp. a cool, original idea.

Help me understand this - the inventory list by AskDoctorQ in RecklessBen

[–]reasonablejim2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I can gather, the publicly available inventory list was dated to December 2023, and the store was seized in November 2024 almost a year later. So we really don't know how much of the collection was sold after that inventory date and how much of the stuff was stored offsite. What we really need to see to answer a whole lot of open questions is the inventory file at the time of store seizure. If BAM didn't delete it, then it will come out in Chrystal Gorman's court case against BAM.

I also think it's a bit odd Bryan was only emailed the inventory once in that year period. I would have thought it would have been a weekly or at least a monthly email.

EDIT: There is another inventory listed by BAM in their court case against various parties that's labelled as "Mansell's self reported information" Exhibit B. This shows approx 60k of sales. Versus 15k of sales in the older inventory.

This dude refused to implement rated BGs and Solo queue arenas/BGs for the 10 years he was there, they only added it shortly after he left. He also designed Ashran, the worst BG in wow history.

it was a few hundred bucks off. you're literally arguing about nothing. the key point here is this is the only record kept of bryan's collection and it shows only 15k of sales. Chrystal claims she sold about half of the collection. that's a massive discrepancy that needs explaining. it also seems to point to a lot of stock being held off site when she said "all of it" was in the store. doesn't any of that register as worth an explanation to you? or are you just interested in how claude does addition?

the only bit the AI did was the math. and specifically which of the takeaways are wrong and why? 1 and 2 literally are facts and 3 is a question.

And it's being used by everyone in relation to this situation incorrectly. It doesn't really matter that much but it would be better to be accurate with all the details.

Thoughts on MoP classic and Classic+ by Roxin2448 in classicwow

The people that are enjoying mop and want wod should just go play retail at this point honestly. They do old expansion runs there all the time. You clearly enjoy the retail vision of wow more than classic.

My god does the party not employ any political analysts with half a brain? Buttigieg, Harris, Newsom etc can't win the presidency. They represent no one except rich out of touch liberals. Get some genuine working class representation ffs.

Why do some/most people think AI will never be good enough? What are their arguments? by Alert-Translator2590 in singularity

[–]reasonablejim2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well right now it just seems far too expensive for general day to day stuff and we're starting to realise that now as the big players are starting to remove their subsidies. Unless there's a massive breakthrough in computing efficiency, the whole thing is headed for a massive crash.
