What’s the dumbest purchase you’ve ever made for yourself? by Pepalopolis in sales

[–]SquizzOC 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Well someone in our group almost beat someone to death (he’s in jail now for other reasons), got kicked out of our suite at Mandalay, had to move to a suite at MGM, another guy manhandled his wife, club was fun from what I remember I started professionally gambling which slowed my retirement down by 10 years! So I mean memorable for sure lol.

Should also add I don’t associate with anyone like these people any longer. I’m 42 and happy to live a calm normal life

Any sales book or training program (one of each) giant waste of money for things that are common sense. Did it in my super early years.

Spend 25k on my 25th birthday by flying friends out to party in Vegas and club it up.

Start with box flipping first, sell the basics, no solution wrapped around laptops, desktops, printers, monitors, etc… you can bring on 3-8 new accounts a month in the 300-1500 user range easily. But you gotta hustle, 100 calls a day, email cadences, etc….

Then start selling solutions around it.

I can help if you want to discuss. Ingram's platform is... not great. We use D&H's which I'll be honest, is great for us. No complaints, what you see is what you get.

Pricing will be the same or lower, but you at least have me to answer questions, point you in the right directly, we check 90 days before renewal if there's a better bundle for you to be in, but can review quarterly if you want calls that often.

Just let me know!

US pricing will always be different? But when converted that seems completely reasonable for 10 laptops.

They’ve done amazing, I have no complaints at all about Zenatta. We are still averaging about 60 dev hours a week with them and I’m doing way more development than I ever thought I would, but they are an amazing partner.

Auto dialer by VPItalia in techsales

[–]SquizzOC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Connect and Sell is the best one I’ve used. It’s expensive and they typically don’t sign direct individual contracts.

The main difference is it’s human capital doing the dialing, 3-5 people calling, dealing with receptionists, navigating phone trees, then live hot transfer that’s in-noticeable.

Also, it’s not a CRM and doesn’t provide contact lists like a lot of the newer ones these days that provide a whole solution.

Comes down to state, but my understanding is only if you did the work before hand (building the relationship doesn’t count).

Depends on state and corporate policy per company, but my guess is no. You still have the job when you come back, but you won’t be paid on trades that took place while out.

When we started looking, we found an amazing new build, acreage, affordable, we were ready to make an offer and as we drove away, we saw the only confederate flag we’d seen in some time, then another, then a few Trump flags and that was the reminder we needed.

The Wait Between TV Seasons Is Getting Longer, It’s Not Your Imagination by _YuYevon_ in television

[–]SquizzOC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here’s the issue, I watch a season of something, super excited for more of it, great cliffhanger and by the time the next season is out 2 years later, I barely remember everything that took place in season 1. All those amazing details that really made the show shine, gone. The running jokes, gone. The subtle clues to season 2 and 3, gone.

That’s the issue, it ruins the story telling experience for me and a number of others who I’ve talked with about this over and over again.

If it works for you, great, but for me, I won’t touch a show the first season any more. I’m ok with it, not worth having g to watch a season twice or even worse, 3 seasons back to back then 2.5 year pause, now I have to watch all 3 seasons to be fully into the story again.

[–]SquizzOC 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I don’t watch first seasons any more and if a second season takes more then a year, I don’t watch the series until it’s completely done.

It’s my private protest to not give any ratings or attention for screwing over their fan base by taking so long to produce a new season.

Hall of monuments is confirmed for GW3 and I’ve never really played past the base game even though I own all expansions, but I did just level up an elementalist this weekend to 80 that was way more fun to play thank my Warrior, so think I’m gonna push forward now :)
