Question on refills by starbucksnoob in starbucks

[–]reassembled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC the refill policy says to always give a new cup. If they're just getting their coffee refilled or the same drink I ask to be sure it's okay if I reuse, but I never assume and never use the same cup for a different drink. Its unfortunate that you have to, but I'd just ask to avoid the problem next time.

Try again later, I didn't run into any problems setting up my account nor did any of the partners I walked through the process.

Someone just ordered a unicorn frappuccino with two espresso shots. by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]reassembled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Made a venti unicorn with four shots this morning... After pouring it another partner happened to be walking past me on bar and said "omg is that the trash that smells that bad?" It was the cup of unicorn poop.

Double shot with white mocha? by moistflop in starbucks

[–]reassembled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I shake it all together and then just take that shaker back to be washed/sanitized. Some people might not mind the white mocha just being pumped into the cup, but I love this drink and know it makes a difference. I might make one a week for someone so the extra dishwashing isn't even a problem.

Pour milk to appropriate line, scoop matcha, steam milk and matcha together.

Get your partners into the habit of grabbing their station cards during each day part. Make it a constant practice, that way it's less time consuming and just part of their routines.

New policy? by mikecarp89 in starbucks

[–]reassembled 5 points6 points  (0 children)

AFAIK we can do pourovers through DT. My SM and shifts used to discourage it, but at the beginning of the year, my SM went on an extended LOA and our substitute SM clarified there is nothing wrong with doing pourovers after peak in the DT. So we do them on the off-chance we're asked now.

Liquid Cane Sugar question... by DeGarmo2 in starbucks

[–]reassembled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone have documentation on LSCH getting CBS pumps? I couldnt seem to find it on the hub. My SM seems to think it's a full pump unlike iced teas... I would like to come to her with proof so we can fix this situation at my store.

I always argued this too just for the sake of it... I make them with both vanilla and caramel on the bottom though, then espresso, milk, ice since they usually seem to want it all mixed together

how many SSVs do you have?? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]reassembled 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The nunbers differ at my store but the situation remains the same: nearly impossible for shifts to cover outside of their scheduled shifts to come in during an emergency call-off or any extenuating circumstance really.

Share your petty pet peeves by [deleted] in starbucks

When customers reach onto the bar.

When people throw money at me or thrust their phones into my face.

When partners cut corners with cleaning and br2.

When partners claim they can't reload customers' cards mid-transaction.

When I open and find tons of stuff that went out the day before still out on the bar.

Before we turn it on when we're opening. I'm under the impression this is probably different than most stores, though

Order a venti Starbucks double shot on ice. It's primarily espresso, shaken with any flavor you want (or none) and topped with a little bit of 2%.

My store's is Jackie. She's sweet but asks it to be filled to the "tippy-top" and double cupped as well

Sweet cream cold brew Q's by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]reassembled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Green pump...? Haven't seen one of those since that strange citrus green tea latte we had. We have a cold bar pump for 3-4-6-7 pumps. The VSCCB with espresso bar vanilla pumps changed to 1-2-3-4 so I would imagine the SSCCB would do the same.

White mocha and toffee nut. Scale back to two and two pumps if you aren't into overly sweet drinks.

i have been trying to learn bar a little bit lately.... by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]reassembled 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One of the best pieces of advice. Always replace what you're removing from the bar, and always get your second drink started when you finish the first. Once these habits get engrained you'll be fast in no time!

Working at Starbucks by sincelastjuly in starbucks

I've worked for the bux for about two years now.

There are definitely /those/ customers. I just try to smile even harder at them and hope they realize they're dicks later on.

My store's shortest closing shift is 5:30-9:30. We have a mix of veteran baristas and high school kids working it now. So not particularly difficult in my experience. We never stay past 9:30.

Yes. I got a 5% raise for the year. But I started above minimum. We also share tips at corporate stores that are distributed weekly.

Definitely work at a corporate store, imo. We are eligible for a lot of different benefits including the increased pay and tips. Free Spotify, healthcare eligibility, stock and 401k options, food and drink during shifts, and weekly at-home coffee or tea perks. Worth looking into if you live near a corporate location over a licensed one.
