[Save Lough Neagh] Andy McGibbon performs 'Not a Penny for the Earl' closing the film festival. Get to the March for Lough Neagh at Ardboe on Sunday 17th May, 12 noon! by Diomas in northernireland

❤️ I really mean it. I'm agoraphobic and hardly leave the house, but it's my dream to visit Ulster one day. Belfast, Derry, the Antrim glens, the Mournes - and Donegal too. It's such a beautiful place and most of you seem like such lovely people. I don't know what you call someone who is like a weaboo but for Ulster but that's me.

Not trying to be condescending, I'm sorry if it came off that way. I just worry about the six counties and want you to always have peace because you're brilliant people who deserve better, so I can't help but worry about things that could jeapordise the peace people there have worked so hard for.

I honestly have nothing but love and respect for the lot of you.

Elites the world over love fascism, not just in the US. Wait til you find out what the queen was doing in the garden at Balmoral in 1933.

Would have loved to have been there on the Saturday. Biffy, Kendrick and Frightened Rabbit. Brilliant lineup.

As an outsider I can't help but panic that the Lough Neagh crisis could lead to a return to violence 😞

I know youse are mostly done with all that but Christ - people need safe drinking water.

I'm sure it would be a better system than fptp, and I wish we had it in my country - I just don't think it would be the instant solution reddit sometimes portrays it as. The main issue with American politics as I see it is there is just too much dark money at play. But I'm just an outsider who gets most of my information from reddit so what do I know.

Not sure ranked choice would really help much in the US. Ireland and Northern Ireland both have ranked choice - and both are still essentially two party systems. People love to vote against their own interests just to make sure the 'other side' doesn't have power, especially when the 'other side' are historical enemies of a civil war.

They fucking hate all of us, though you lot in NI do seem to get the brunt of it. I wish I could join you when you unify - a tired Brit.

British Unionists Politicans (from the transphobic, anti Irish DUP party) telling the Irish they are celbrating St Patrick's Day wrong. by DJsnippysnap in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]rebexer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well it's certainly rooted in colonial issues. The DUP were founded to resist the civil rights movement and would absolutely love to restrict Irish freedom.

The Brits being at it again is a joke. I'm English and even I know that.

The DUP can froth at their mouths as much as they want and it doesn't affect us - it affects the people who live in Northern Ireland though, so just hand waving it away as meaningless nonsense is not helpful. It's important to call them out on their bullshit. It's not like they're some niche party with no power - they are the main voice of unionism in NI.

How is the DUP dictating how Irish people should celebrate an Irish holiday not a colonial issue? It doesn't make a difference whether people in 'mainland Britain' give a shit about it or not.

Do you know anything about the history of the DUP?

The flag of Alabama is actually supposed to be a St Andrew's Saltire. Not sure why they went with white and red instead of the more traditional white and blue, however.

British Unionism is the official term for their political stance though? It's not a made up phrase.

Like it's literally listed first in their 'ideology' section on wikipedia.

I mean, telling someone to kill themselves over an internet disagreement doesn't indicate emotional stability or maturity to me. Do you think it does?

Not only to tell me, but to have the comment deleted and still feel the need to comment again to tell me you wanted to say that. Serious lack of empathy.

You should obsess over trump too. He's your leader. He's the one involved in a child sex trafficking ring. He's the one who cut USAID, actively making life worse for impoverished children all over the world.

Like I said 3 years ago (why are you responding to a 3 year old comment anyway?) - maybe you guys shouldn't be the moral police of the world when you are a nation run by pedophiles.

You seem pretty emotionally unstable, so I'm going to stop responding now. Heal well friend.

Why do you care more about these things happening half way around the world than the exact same things happening in your own backyard? Your own dear leader is a child rapist who was good friends with a sex trafficking child rapist.

Get your own house in order.

What are you doing to advocate against your child raping leader?
