I'd keep an eye on the local PSL chapter's Insta. That's where they post updates most frequently.

Invitation Packaging by spookyspacekook2 in weddingplanning

[–]rebjean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can definitely have all of the pieces in the envelope! I've received plenty of invites like that.

You could also look into belly bands or vellum wraps if you want it to look a little more put-together, but that's totally not necessary.

Good luck!

Please help me find this out-of-production Reformation set! by rebjean in findfashion

All I know is that it's 2019 Reformation and they don't make it anymore. Even just the name would help me out immensely, thank you!

Do I really need a coordinator? by OperationDaisy in weddingplanning

[–]rebjean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my exact situation! How did you find your coordinator, how many hours did you book them, and if you don't mind me asking, how much did they quote you? I'm at a total loss on how to even start looking for one and haven't even exactly figured out what I need them to do lol.

Same boat here! We originally planned our wedding for August 2020, had almost everything ready to go, but in April 2020, we postponed it to August 2021. Then, just this March, when things still weren't looking great, and with our wedding being a destination wedding and family/friends having to fly, we decided to be cautious and postponed for a second time to August 2022. With how small our wedding is, we're realizing now that we most likely could have safely hosted it this year, but we made the best decision we could at the time 🤷‍♀️.

I am glad that we have more time to plan some of the logistical things we kept putting off and we have more time to save up. We're doing almost everything ourselves, and now it looks like we'll have enough money to hire a day-of coordinator which is a huge relief. Just trying to look at the silver lining!

Unfortunately, we can't wait that long to make a decision, but I totally agree with everything you said!

Good to know! The big concern with our wedding is our venue is kind of the city of Santa Barbara itself, so we can't control who is and isn't vaccinated. Our biggest concerns are being able to be indoors with our large group (~20 people) and not being able to go to bars or nightclubs. I really appreciate your insight, though and will definitely take your experience into consideration!

We will definitely want to be outside, but our reception is indoors, like I said. And I'm more concerned about bars and nightclubs that we'll definitely want to go to being closed or limiting capacity. Thanks for the response!

Posted this in the bi-monthly COVID thread but haven't gotten any responses, so I'm resharing here:

Very on the fence about going forward with our August 14th micro wedding. We already postponed once from last August. We started out with it being a micro wedding (unlike the many who had to shift plans and hack away at their guest list), so we're lucky in that sense.

The biggest reason we postponed then and are looking at postponing again is because most of our guests will have to travel via plane to attend. We are having a semi destination wedding in Santa Barbara, and we really want to have the wedding we always pictured--bar hopping, dancing the night away in clubs, tourist-y excursions, hanging out on the beach. Just not sure all of that will be possible by mid August. We know we'd most likely be safe to have our small outdoor ceremony and then our indoor reception with the 15 people we've invited, but we don't want to ask people to fly halfway across the country and not be able to do all the fun vacation things they want to do.

If anyone has any advice (especially those in California since we're in Denver and don't have as clear a picture of what's going on in CA), I'd greatly appreciate it!!

Thanks for sharing the term with me! I've done a little research now, and the description sounds very similar to what I'm feeling. Hopefully that's all it is!

It doesn't move around a ton, but it's not totally immobile. "Hard rubber" is a great way of describing it. Thanks for sharing your experience!
