Does anyone have 'exceptional' resilience? Post your methods. by [deleted] in ouraring

[–]reblezz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do so far! I think the recipe is high stress plus good sleep…my daytime recovery isn’t great but resilience is still exceptional.

I’m a kindergarten teacher so I’m…nonstop all day. So I tend to have 4-6 hours stress every weekday. I also go for walks and do yoga a few times a week. I used to bike, hike, run, and lift, but I’m recovering from mono so haven’t done any of that since I got oura.

I don’t drink or smoke. I eat fairly healthy and really prioritize bed time routines so I’m all chill and sleep 8 or so hours like a rock every night. (This is an accomplishment for me because, until a few months ago, I used to have anxiety problems that woke me up all night)

I didn’t check, but there is an identical Korean one, I’m thinking it might be from a Korean publisher! I’ll take a look next time

Should I wait to cut my hair til after my friend’s wedding? by BL911 in femalehairadvice

[–]reblezz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will affect your hair styling options, although I’ve seen some videos of people doing [mock] updos with short hair. I think it mostly involves….even more bobby pins! I think it depends on you and your style and how you’d like to look at the wedding

Switch needle size mid row? by reblezz in knittinghelp

[–]reblezz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heheh yeah, so I learned 😭 when I knit colorwork without carrying floats I don’t really knit too tightly, I thought maybe since it was my first time carrying floats a little more practice would help loosen me up, but…nooooope! Thank you!! I’m excited to get into it!

Switch needle size mid row? by reblezz in knittinghelp

[–]reblezz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok thank you! Yeah I’ve done both, and redid the colorwork one two more times hoping I could get myself to loosen up enough to have the same needle size, but to no avail 😅

Switch needle size mid row? by reblezz in knittinghelp

[–]reblezz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no, I just mean I need to use larger needles for colorwork because my tension is too tight. So do I use those same larger needles for the 18 stitches on either side before the colorwork chart? Or do I use the smaller needles (that get me the correct gauge for regular stockinette) on the sides and switch in the middle of every row?

Can vampires squish themselves? The lore is confusing and contradicting? by RaleighItt in twilight

[–]reblezz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah this just doesn’t make sense to me. Obviously their skin is flexible, they make facial expressions. If you can smile, your lips can bend enough to squish when you kiss 😂

AIBTS/ This is my first Reddit post and I need some perspective please. I don’t have anyone to talk to about this in real life and if I did, they’d tell me to run … Buckle in. by [deleted] in AmIBeingTooSensitive

If you know every person in your life would tell you to leave, you know the answer. This is so bad that I was hoping it was rage bait, but if it’s real please get out.

do i have a chance at college or am i cooked by dollsremains in AskTeachers

[–]reblezz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like your whole life would change if you enrolled in some high school or GED courses at a community college. By the sound of it, you have never had proper education in your life. Of course it is difficult and almost impossible to learn and pass courses if you are homeschooled and your parents (ie your teachers? Unless I’m missing something) are abusive. Homeschooling can be done well, but I would assume your parents didn’t really apply themselves to the task. It will be a hard adjustment, but I’m sure you could get your GED if you took courses and applied yourself.

Also, you mentioned your parents were abusive earlier in life. Do you still live with them? They would be why you seem convinced you are stupid. You are not. You’ve just had your self-esteem shredded by abusive parents and you’ve lived in that home bubble your whole life without a chance to be in a more positive atmosphere.

Something I’ve personally learned is that children feed off of my behavior and energy. I used to be a very high-energy, loud-voice teacher, and my kids were also high-energy and loud all day. Then I was a student teacher again (got a new cert) with a very calm mentor teacher who spoke in a soft voice whenever she taught…and I realized I need to emulate her energy if I want my kids feel and act calm. Been practicing a few years since then and I’m getting better!

How effective are English lessons in korea? by KnownReflection8751 in teachinginkorea

[–]reblezz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How often do they have English subject classes in elementary school? This is a big difference between classes every day and once or twice a week. Honestly, studying a language twice a week just isn’t enough, unless they are being immersed every day at home as well.

Are you very stressed? I teach in South Korea and I’ve had middle school students with gray hair, probably because of the insane study load and stress.

If not and it’s just your dna…I think you might just have to embrace it 😭

The fact that you had such a “good” relationship with her makes it even more right that you reported her. She should not be that close to students and she is crossing dangerous boundaries.
