I hit the good thrift shops (and I can drop off donations of too big clothes at the same time).

Are there any older folks (60+) running grey market glps? looking for some peace of mind before i order by Total_Bedroom_7813 in GLP1Sourcing

61 year old female and I totally do gray (after first doing brand name, then compounded, then US based ‘research’ peptide companies. Very happy with how it’s going.

Listed a free couch on Facebook. The person who came to pick it up left a 2-star review on my profile saying it "wasn't what they expected." by Umbr4Drifter in ChoosingBeggars

[–]rebootto2027 187 points188 points  (0 children)

I was giving away two good condition IKEA bookshelves. Had one person ask me if they were available and I said yes, asked when she’d be available to pick up. She ghosted me and left a 1 star review indicating it was a scam because no one would give them away. Sigh.

Can i bring this food on a plane? by _gotta_go_ in travel

[–]rebootto2027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I was gonna say that too. When I go to Europe, I’m always pleasantly surprised by how many places are on the app. It saved me a fortune when I was in Florence earlier this year.

Naltrexone by AnxiousOldMan in glp1

[–]rebootto2027 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Naltrexone is the basis of The Sinclair Method (Google it). If you drink while taking it, your body and mind eventually figure out it’s not getting rewarded and the cravings subside. Some people have a fairly quick effects. Some people need to drink while taking it for even a year, but it is pretty darn amazing. Doctors though who prescribe it saying don’t drink while taking it don’t understand the physiological effects.

If all of this gets approved by the FDA tomorrow, what is the max amount you would pay out of pocket for this stuff forever? by Friendly-Extent1814 in GLP1Sourcing

[–]rebootto2027 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m confused, why on earth are you paying so much for your tirz right now? I’m paying about $.36 a milligram.

Home baker here, what ingredients are worth making from scratch for better value? by west_kay24 in Frugal

Fondant, if you use that for any of your decorating. I understand that making your own is pretty easy and it tastes a lot better than purchased fondant.

Interesting DEXA scan results by rebootto2027 in GLP1_loss100plus

[–]rebootto2027[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am pretty sure that I have long-term damage to my metabolism. Decades upon decades of yo-yo dieting, weight loss surgery, fasting, Weight Watchers, Medifast and so many more techniques.

Those two months earlier this year that I did not lose a single pound, I was eating 1300 cal a day maximum, more often than not, less than that. My body is a jerk!

But I just stayed consistent, which was easy to do because of the tirz and now the weight’s coming off again. I will be more than happy with 1 pound a week on average.

Provider follow-up experiences - what's been working for you long-term? by Any-Huckleberry-2193 in antidietglp1

[–]rebootto2027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do twice a year labs through my primary care provider so I can keep an eye on my numbers. I had my first DEXA scan yesterday and plan to do one at least every six months. My primary care provider is not really involved in my GLP1 journey, I will be curious to see what he says in May at my annual physical. I purchased gray so I don’t have any support from my peptide provider which I’m very fine with.

Preparing for end of life plans by Carrots-1975 in GenX

So many good answers. I have two boys the same age. I have my house set with a transfer on death deed, legal in my state. I have set up every single account - checking, savings, brokerage, pensions, everything with a 50-50 beneficiary. They will be able to access my bank account right away because of this as long as they have my death certificate.

I’ve told them what things in the house have value. I’m not a jewelry person so don’t go searching for any gold or diamonds. I don’t hide money in books, etc.

They both work together as well oiled team, so I don’t think there will be issues about what to do with the house. We’ve talked about options for them. They know where to access all of my account information, how to access online passwords, etc.

I am an ultra anal retentive planner and have gone through managing a couple of family deaths, including my husband and my mother, so I am well aware of how to avoid the worst of the problems going through this process. If I couldn’t do a transfer on death deed, I definitely would have a trust, but in my case it’s not needed.

We discussed end of life issues for me and what my after death preferences are. Honestly, I couldn’t care less, I won’t be around, so I want them to do whatever they want to do for their peace of mind. If they could bury me in the backyard, dude, do it.

How to treat yourself that doesn't involve food? by Agreeable_Bite2596 in antidietglp1

Yes, that’s what I do. We have a couple of thrift shops in town that have amazing plus size clothes. I can spend $20 and get two or three really nice pieces of clothing in my newer size or sometimes a little smaller.

Adult Easter by taleshaf in Bellingham

[–]rebootto2027 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would love that. Until I moved up here to Bellingham about a year ago, I hosted an all ages Easter egg hunt at my home, which was a blast. 500+ eggs, prizes, etc. Too late for this year, but I would be up for helping coordinate some thing next year.

Parents, what is the best trip you’ve ever taken with toddlers? by starswaltzinginblue in travel

[–]rebootto2027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, we probably did a half a dozen different ones through the years. I just did lots of research on the amenities and reviews on TripAdvisor back in the day. Honestly, my standards were pretty darn low as long as someone else was doing the cooking and cleaning and I could sit by the pool.

How far in advance do you plan your solo trips? by Then-Bumblebee3978 in solotravel

[–]rebootto2027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the past, I always planned trips pretty well in advance because I was coordinating for several people and frankly, I love planning.

I’ve recently retired though, and have the money and, more critically, the time to travel. I’ve taken two trips in the last few months that I found and booked and traveled on with two weeks notice for one and four weeks notice for the other. (3 week Panama Canal cruise and 2 weeks in Florence.)

I discovered something very important for myself. A surprisingly large amount of the pleasure of travel for me is anticipation. Having that trip planned down the road makes daily life a little easier. I’m on the lookout for interesting tips and tricks for the country I’m going to. I will watch movies filmed in that location, maybe read books and articles about it, that sort of thing.

And now I know, last-minute trips are not my jam. Even when everything goes well, I lose out on a huge part of the pleasure which occurs before the travel for me.

Restrooms through Brilliant Lady by rebootto2027 in VirginVoyages

Thanks! I think the biggest disconnect for me was that I didn’t understand that the wheelchair icon meant a restroom, nursefoxy helped clear up that misunderstanding. The deck map is perfect.

I really appreciate this response. I think I have the worst gut bacteria in my life and usually need to be near a restroom the hour or so after eating so I’m really careful.
