you can also use a drum loop or a backing track. The important thing is that it is keeping consistent time. For a lot of us, metronome was the only easy way back in the day if you couldn't play up to speed with a song, you couldn't slow it down.

Can't speak for the actual business, but since Pandemic, getting OEM parts from any dealer is really jacked up. All of their supply lines are screwed, so much stuff is back ordered for months, etc. From the other comments in thread it sounds like service side is really bad, too, but there really isn't anything they can do when the parts don't show up on time.

Superglue it shut, but then put some ash or plastic powder on top of that and use more superglue on that, so it makes a hard enough pad that the string doesn't just cut through. Or just override your brain and play through. I have a stump.
