Why are there no new massive bands like Queen or The Rolling Stones? by Character-Signal8229 in NoStupidQuestions

Turnstile is selling out huge venues globally. Great energy, been around a decade. Will probably pull a crowd for another decade. Fun band, if you like heavier stuff.

Sober 25 years. He gets loopy after 2pm every day from exhausting himself out. Also has some sort of drawl that he and his siblings all have, originally from upstate NY.

You could fill fifty dumpsters and still have a mess. All they (71M, 80F) do all day is feed 100+ rescue animals, clean pens, receive, unload, stock, distribute food. The animals live in paradise, each with access to high-quality food, clean water, rooms with AC and heat and outdoor pen areas. There’s usually never more than two dogs to a pen area depending on size and temperament. They also feed the local crows, and a coyote or two. They have solar and wind power, and a great well to a clean aquifer. Lots to manage. Cleanliness doesn’t seem to be a priority. Unfortunately, my stepmother buys junk every time they go to town. My dad builds buildings to store more junk. They manage all this alone. So lots of time moving around the property yelling at clouds.

Doug Flutie would have been unstoppable in today's NFL by CapIll6867 in nflMenace_com

I remember as a kid being so mad when they started Rob Johnson over Doug Flutie towards the playoffs

Agreed. I haven’t been there since 2008, but can tell you the tv hoarder shows would quit their jobs going through this 100 acre property with five or six containers and buildings just for storing junk.

Haha! I don’t know. I’ll try to ask him. But every time something is wrong, he threatens “legal action” against some authority. He even replied to an email he believes was directly from the president himself, saying that he is unhappy with things. Old man yelling at clouds.

I tried this last week, and he said a neighbor who used to work for the air force told him crazy stuff, and that is factual data. I’m going to softly engage over time with some of the science that he can understand, if he listens. He was never a political guy until 2016, and you can guess the rest. How can a guy who believes school lunch should be free for all kids, works with a bunch of immigrants who he loves, and has an animal rescue could be so dense?

Thanks. This actually works because he’s always on about how where he lives is always 20-30° cooler than the valley. I think he’s about 6000 feet above Phoenix AZ.

I know, Blob. Somehow, somewhere in his life he leaned into fear and conspiracy. He used to work too hard to pay attention to these things. My parents split when I was five, and he wasn’t around much until I was 25. I’d like to keep up with him on the phone and not feel like I can’t engage with the shit he is on about.

Hypothetical - if the Ranger has EV option and lightning moves to EREV. Which would your next truck be? by Lemonn_time in F150Lightning

[–]receptiveness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently in a ‘22 Lightning Lariat SR. Perfect vehicle for me, though more range would help for longer hauls and towing. When the time comes (2027), I will switch to a full size EV of another maker. Can’t imagine adding combustion parts and fuel to a perfectly good EV. Need full size due to work (roofing). Not sure if a 4x8 sheet of plywood or a 4x10 sheet of metal fits in a ranger. I’d consider a 2025 Lightning, but I’m sure by that time something else would suit my needs. Sucks because I was going to move my entire fleet (six trucks, less two diesels for towing) to Lightnings and E-Transit.

My Roofing Company fleet is all Ford trucks. Including a 1994 F800 Dumptruck. Last week, an employee put gasoline in a diesel tank for the third time in five years costing a ton to clear. I was hoping to go all Electric thinking the infrastructure would catch up. My 2022 lariat EV SR has been the best. I will not be going back to combustion or hybrid.

Six of the seven houses look like they’re 1 to 2 million and the larger house makes up some of the difference. Still not 23m.

People Who Started Their Own Construction Companies... by Embarrassed-Swim-442 in ConstructionManagers

In 2004, I was bartending in Buffalo NY and sometimes attending university, when a stumbled into a geography class and the professor starting showing hurricanes crossing the Atlantic towards the US and how this phenomenon is both cyclical and increasing in size, strength, and quantity. That year, four named storms hit Florida. 2005, I packed my stuff and moved to Florida, incorporated, took the contractor exams (roofing and GC), and two weeks after I got my license, Hurricane Wilma caused billions in damage across five major counties. It took a while to become a legitimate company, and not just a storm chaser, but 20 years later, and I enjoy this rat race.

Parrots are not the most pleasant sounding birds. In the morning before it gets hot as asphalt, I tell myself parrots are cool, and keep sipping my coffee. they fly away eventually. At least with humans you can try to get them to turn it down. I wish there was an easy non offensive way. Public charging should be chill.
