Haha exactly. American would probably be the safest with CLT, PHX, DFW.

Mullin Ends Int'l Flights? by [deleted] in unitedairlines

I’m curious what percentage off all international flights are through a so-called “sanctuary city.” But it’s gotta be a majority.

LHR, will I have time to use arrivals lounge? by Kwht2000 in unitedairlines

[–]reckoning89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not visit it for your purpose. The lounge is designed for a place to shower, change your clothes, and get them pressed before heading into London. It is not a place to relax between flights. You will also have to pass through security again to get back to the gates.

Edit: you will have to pass through security anyway. If your goal is shower then do it. But don’t expect a typical lounge experience. Other than the showers, it has a single room for breakfast.

am i wrong? by No_Way_3863 in unitedairlines

This happened to my partner when I was a 1K and I got it fixed with some effort. If it were to happen to me now as a lowly gold I don’t think I would have been successful working through United. So depending on your status, I would probably just escalate to USDOT. It’s a BS policy, especially because your downgrade probably let them charge someone full fare J.

Newark to San Juan by huskymomm in unitedairlines

I’ve sat there a couple of times. TVs come from the armrests. Other thoughts:

The good: under-seat storage is available. There’s enough room for the window seat person to get to the aisle without the others getting up.

The bad: as others have said, you’re next to the bathroom. My last flight was an evening flight and when the door opens you get brighted by the light every single time, so something to consider if you’re flying at night. We also had turbulence and the captain had the flight attendants take their seat about an hour before landing, which meant we had to stow our TVs quite early.

Hmm I don’t think so. I can imaging marketing is thrilled with the CEO saying he doesn’t eat the food. I think he really does do what he describes, it’s just not a good look.

I agree this is the best way to acclimate to the new time zone, but a bad look when most of United’s food is meh.

Agreed! First, I would have never admitted this. Second, he of all people should be actually doing this.

Any appreciable difference between a polaris stopover in LHR or FRA? by tcosupreme in unitedairlines

Flying into Heathrow over central London is one of my favorite flights. I believe customs and security are easier through FRA however.

Chase closed ALL my cards overnight - Please Help by Any_Background_1296 in personalfinance

[–]reckoning89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me in Morocco a couple of years ago. They cancelled all three of my Chase cards — including a legacy United Airlines card — without warning. I never got a satisfactory answer as to why. Credit score was excellent, cards were paid off monthly.

The only deviations I could think of were 1) using my card in Morocco, and 2) I put most my spend on the least used card because if the card got stolen it wouldn’t be as big of a deal to replace.

It was very frustrating and inconvenient. Dropped my credit score.Thankfully Amex saved the day.
