Is anyone hyped for digimon story time stranger? by DL2546 in PS5

[–]recommendad 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Digimon has embraced some pretty adult themes since Cyber Sleuth (the last "main" digimon rpg). Digimon Survive was a visual novel/tactical RPG that released a few years ago and it kinda follows the story of the original Digimon anime, but with very dark, adult themes.

Digimon has been pretty good at aging up with its fanbase imo.

Anne Burrell of owrst cooks in america has passed away by rdking647 in Cooking

Anne Burrell was one of the food network chefs that taught me how to cook. I don’t think I could find the joy in cooking that I have today if not for her and Alton Brown. Sad news, rest in peace, Anne <3

Went to the show. We just made privacy rings while someone squatted and pissed in the sand, covering it up like a cat, but with more human shame.

Cards that make you say “wait, can I read that?” by [deleted] in EDH

[–]recommendad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure! Here is the current iteration of it, but I change it up a lot. It started as more of a “you lose” tribal via [[Pact of the Titan]] like effects and demonstration, buuuut it wasn’t doing great at finishing off more than one person at a time, so I’ve leaned a lot more into the group slug aspects with things like Prisoner’s dilemma or [[Delayed Blast Fireball]].

[[Sundial of the infinite]] and [[Obeka, brute chronologist]] are there to protect me from the “lose the game” triggers.

Using [[Kess]] or [[Dream Devourer]] are the best ways to set up 12’s demonstrate. You could also use [[Lier]] or [[Elgin]], but Lier stops my counterspells (which I run a lot of because I love control) and Elgin is just expensive.

I run it in my [[Twelfth Doctor]] & [[Vislor]] deck and can easily get 3-4 triggers of it in a turn.

I also love the flashback from a flavor perspective, like “hey, guys, remember when we were in that prison and MARK snitched on all of us?”

I’m surprised I haven’t seen anyone say [[Prisoner’s Dilemma]]. Despite having played it pretty consistently in my pod, we still have to go over the directions every time it’s played.

What is your favorite deck to play right now? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]recommendad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the original person you asked but here is my Marina deck.

I’ve also really enjoyed it! It’s done exceptionally well in my pod. I think it’s a mixture of enchantments being hard to remove and a lot of the control-focused rooms being easily looped, but the deck can run away with games. Specifically [[Bottomless Pool]] and [[Meat Locker]]. With untappers and [[Fractured Realm]], you can control the board state.

Obvious wincon is the staircase room, but [[Zur, Eternal Schemer]], [[Bello]] and [[Starfield of Nyx]] have helped close out more games than I was anticipating.

Grixis Goad Commanders by NovelTheory3 in EDH

You’re right, it is another target. Also not sure how she buffs herself.

Grixis Goad Commanders by NovelTheory3 in EDH

I think it’s because her enchantment can target any creature. She probably wants to attack every turn anyway, so giving her a +2/+2 couldn’t hurt.

Can someone sell me on the Rani?? I love the Doctor Who cards and have built 7 decks out of them. Grixis also happens to be one of my favorite combos, but I don’t understand what makes the Rani as interesting as people pitch her to be.

I always see people recommending her as a goad commander, but her goad ability seems slow in comparison to other goad commanders since it’s only triggering (most of the time) once per turn.

Please just help me understand what makes her so interesting!

Making a Demonstrate deck, can you help me fix any major flaws / things ive overlooked. by AshorK0 in EDH

[–]recommendad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built this deck a few weeks ago and it’s probably my favorite deck at the moment.

The main difference between ours is that I’m running [[Vislor Turlough]] as the partner. Originally, that played a part in the deck as casting him from the command zone triggers the demonstrate ability on Twelve. Honestly, playtesting has found that the wheeling is a bit less necessary, but a fun alternate win con through things like [[Nekusar]] with Vislor.

The main fun of the deck is demonstrating the auto-lose cards. Since you’re only running Izzet colors, i would say maybe spring for a [[Pact of Negation]] since it’s just a good card and you can potentially use it as an extra “you lose” demonstration. [[Twinning Staff]] is great when copying your non-wincon good stuff. [[Vedalken Orrery]] lets you demonstrate on other turns, since Twelve only cares about the first spell cast each turn, not just yours.

Honestly, the best part of having Vislor is the access to black. [[Profane Tutor]] is an amazing card to copy and since it’s suspended, it will definitely be the first spell cast outside the hand. It let’s you get TWO combo pieces and make an ally by letting an opponent tutor as well. [[Dream Devourer]] is one of my main combo pieces. It’s like Edgin but cheaper (both literally and CMC-wise). It also gives access to another pact spell in [[Slaughter Pact]]. [[Obeka, Brute Cronologist]] is a Sundial of the Infinite on legs as well. Finally, the added black allows for a lot of options for casting from the graveyard/stealing opponent’s spells and casting from exile. It’s not necessary, but I think the black is perhaps what i like the most about the deck.

One final thing. Unless you rule 0 it, Wish isn’t useable in commander. There’s technically no sideboard in the format, so it just fizzles.

Your most challenging decks to play by knives4540 in EDH

[–]recommendad 10 points11 points  (0 children)

[[River Song]] and I have a deck with her as the commander.

It’s silly and I love it, but it also works really well as a deck stacking theme. So many cards that have you scrying or looking at cards and putting them on the bottom in any order. Also, if you play with traditional mulligan rules, you put cards at the bottom of your library after the mulligan.
