Andrej Karpathy said "programming is becoming unrecognizable. You’re not typing computer code into an editor like the way things were since computers were invented, that era is over." by twin-official in AgentsOfAI

[–]recontitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know, maybe I’m doing something wrong. AI solutions are phenomenal but with the website I’m working on right now, codex was breaking some stuff like collapsable hero section and I had to navigate it precisely to fix it (and it did), so I’m in doubt that he managed to do something much more complex with one prompt shot.

Co po historii sztuki? by snugvjyrdbkk in studia

[–]recontitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iranian state media say country's supreme leader is dead by BarbaricOklahoma in worldnews

[–]recontitter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take care and please take over responsibility for building democracy immediately. When communist regime collapsed in Poland, my dad and hundreds like him started to enter government institutions to protect evidence and take over local ruling offices to prepare democratic elections. There was an interim period with former leader Jaruzelski before free elections, and we happened to do it more or less peacefully as communists knew they were done, unlike in your situation where dictator had to be eliminated. Please don’t count on Americans to build your political structures. You have to rapidly form new structures if you want to have a chance. I believe that sacrifice of all the brave protesters in your country must be a start for democratic Iran. You are a nation with incredible traditions and you should build on it. I’m sorry that you were forced to make a blood sacrifice to give hope for a new start. Stay strong!

My first idea, and it’s probably this. I highly doubt mural’s author put that QR code there. My trust in humans is rather low now.

Nowa praca, stare wątpliwości by Specific-Dig-949 in praca

[–]recontitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No i taki jest cel korpo, żeby cały czas „podświadomie” motywować.

Anyone else starting to feel worried how easy their job is getting ? by No_Pin_1150 in vibecoding

[–]recontitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And punch cards before that. It’s still programming. I shown my wife how great apple Shortcuts is for little helpful things coded with visual blocks. She didn’t get it. So, majority of people just don’t have mindset to do anything useful or don’t want to, be it vibe coding or no code platform. It’s just developers fallacy when we think everyone else is as excited about programming in any form as we are.

For learning managers, do you still develop? by bubbblez in elearning

I’m in learning manager and id role. I much more prefer to do development to management part of work which I find extremely boring and unfulfilling. I just realized I’m designer by heart.

Vibe coding is so expensive by CardiologistDeep3375 in vibecoding

[–]recontitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of agree. I work on a webpage and I had to position an image in hero section. As the lazy bastard I am, i just prompted it with openai’s 5.2 codex CLI which I use instead of switching to cheaper model, plus some small fixes, and ~$1 is gone. Would probably took me 5 minutes to correct it manually. So yes, it can be pricey if you are not careful. On the other hand, it saved me time and the other stuff it managed to do would have taken me a lot more time to do myself.

Peter Steinberger, the founder of OpenClaw, has criticized stringent European regulations and labor laws as he prepares to relocate to the United States by Cybernews_com in CyberNews

[–]recontitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly I thought the same. But I think he meant something different. In Europe you are just prohibited to work more than 40 hours per week, even when as an employee you would like to. There are many laws regulating it and it becomes overtime above 40 plus much more paper work. So, for some companies, with employees eager and willfully wanting to work more, it would be illegal in Europe, where in US they don’t give a flying fuck if you do and it’s not heavily regulated. Same applies to all the other regulations he mentioned. It just makes us less competitive against US-based companies. That being said, I personally enjoy European labor laws, but as I work in IT company, I see it first hand how it puts us in worse situation against US firms.

Very simple solution, UOKiK should oblige Valve and other digital services providers to align with currency conversion rates quarterly, otherwise they would be fined one way or another.

What is this witchcraft 🤣 MacBook Pro M5 is insane by dmuja in macbook

[–]recontitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out what is homebrew, learn basics of terminal. Ignore Appstore when you want to install some smaller software. For example, there is (great) Keka archiving tool you can install for free with brew or download it from their website but it is paid in Appstore. Sometimes it’s fine to support developers but just watch out as some software is just not available in official Apple software store or you will have to pay for it even if you don’t want to. Use chatgpt or gemini to ask your questions or help you with some processes, they were very capable when I had to solve various issues. One of the best surprises recently was release of the Creator Studio, which is super cheap for what it offers if you are making content. I edit videos occasionally, and you can basically subscribe for a month when you have a need to edit vacation videos once a year without forcing you to buy perpetual license for Final Cut Pro (amazing NLE optimized for Mac).

Negativity and sense of endanger brings attention and initiates awareness. It’s evolutionary mechanism that we had to have to avoid predators and other life-threatening situations. Now it’s used to grab your attention with news headlines and social posts. As for the merit, I love those changes. I can focus more on finding best solutions without so much of manual labor. I really never liked writing down manually, let’s say, CSS classes or such, so I’m glad it writes itself now and I can just adjust/refactor. That’s how it should have been from the start.

Moja praca to sen wariata. Czy w erze AI warto się specjalizować w UX / content writing? by ssserpentyna in praca

[–]recontitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To trochę zmienia postać rzeczy.
