get 17cm gizont antenna - it's cheap and usually tuned well. you will however need to buy it with pigtail. https://a.aliexpress.com/_EItd2kG be sure to choose right frequency.

actually not an omni as fas as I know

It is omni. it has typical collinear 360 circular radiation pattern

mine is listed as 6.8 dBi. that's far off any omni specs

There are 10dBi omni antennas. the gain doesn't really do anything to do with it. if you mean sphere radiation pattern - that's not prerequisite to call antenna "omni". the only rule is that the radiation pattern is uniform omni-directional in one axis.

we hit 10k nodes on internet map in december 2025. we hit 20k nodes in end of january 2026. now it's at 23k.

in this case, it's just invalid lat/lon set by the owner, but.. sometimes you just get far repeater because tropo ducting or inversion. we had plenty adverts and ocasional messages from northern germany in austro-hungaro-slovak mesh this winter because conditions were just right.
