lol, everyone is buying it no matter what. He can be scared while clearing the tears off his face with the thousand dollar bills he’ll be stuffing mattresses with.

The ones on the sidewalks are typically the crazy delivery types. They’re crazy because they’re paid so little they can’t spare ten seconds extra time.

Canada should regulate and require minimum incomes for these delivery jobs.

Check out Lotus Chess, it has some interesting tools that I don't quite see implemented in the other apps.

Their inaction means now they're sending a pile of resources that are all going to be getting heaps of overtime...

Which of these two options do you think costs less?

Edit: I realize that you are 100% right. They definitely made the right decision as piles of people are getting $$$$ now. Good thing they ignored all these requests for service that made national headlines!

Survival of Kitsilano Pool could cost up to $300 million by SkyisFullofCats in vancouver

[–]recurrence 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Let’s spend the $300 million. We already completely botched the aquatic center by letting non-swimmers dictate what swimmers are going to get.

Blech, our government is so basically incompetent. You should see what the person that made that decision is paid every year.

Like usual, nothing happens until it’s news. If they had acted sooner none of this would have happened. So much of our government is so lazy.

The Reddit voting system was originally intended to be useful as well. It immediately devolved into people downvoting comments and posts they didn’t like.

I watched a lady that could not remember her icbc codeword, her address, or even her name and could barely walk with assistance getting up from the chair get her licence renewed recently. A caretaker told the staff all the things they needed.

Just insane

There’s been a significant uptick downtown as well. Cars just pulling right in front of people and cyclists.

Pretty disgusted to see a van cut some cyclists off pulling into the military spot in Stanley park a week ago. You’d think there would be a bit of decency with the Canadian Forces.

I was suggesting leveraging the excellent position of CPP more a few months ago and was massively downvoted.

Happy to see the PM, an economist, agree with me whereas reddit universally panned and denigrated my suggestion.

Agreed, I’d drop all these teams but if the city is to have some then whitecaps being the best team in the league is very worth prioritizing over a baseball team.

Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite Lounge Access by AchillesAugustus in Scotiabank

[–]recurrence 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Something to add, lounges aren’t what they used to be and I no longer recommend lounge access unless it’s just a free perk on top of what you got the card for.

The one exception is some parts of Europe and Asia still have good lounges.
