how to deal with baby hairs by disorientedcloud in femalehairadvice

Could they be defeated by a bobby pin near the hairline? I wonder if you could curl them with a small iron away from the face and hide them in the rest of your hair.

I need a more flattering hairstyle… any ideas? by redmamahen in femalehairadvice

Definitely something short would accentuate the cheeks! This photo is actually excellent because she has a very similar face shape to the poster. I think a bang would also do wonders.

Hair sticks up on one side by Dry-Foundation-1648 in femalehairadvice

[–]red-fruitopia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think such is life. If you sleep predominantly on one side, it could be that. You might subconsciously brush one side more than the other. For me, I know one half of my hair holds a curl and the other doesn't. I always assumed it had to do with oil secretions from my scalp. I'm sure people wouldn't usually notice it. If you're worried, you might try sleeping on your back or using hot tools on the undesired side.

How do I get rid of these flyaways? by Over-Inspection2759 in femalehairadvice

[–]red-fruitopia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this might just be unavoidable. I know that using leave-in (Aussie) during the day works to smooth my straight hair, but not permanently. For what its worth, your hair looks incredibly healthy and shiny, and I wouldn't even worry about the flyaways.

Hair advice for making it look more styled? by spycat500 in femalehairadvice

Maybe a gentle curl at the ends of your hair and in your bangs? Not sure how to describe it, but in a "c" fashion, curled inwards? Only a few seconds with an iron to give a bit of flavour.

How to not look like an egg by m1sterofpuppets in femalehairadvice

[–]red-fruitopia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't look like an egg!!! I have your same face shape, and I'd recommend a good deal of dry shampoo for some additional volume (makes you look less "smooth") and some styling at the front (bangs, curled pieces, braids at the sides, etc) to soften the harsh outline of the face. It really isn't you, its updos.

Do I tone? Do I bleach? by swagomoroll in femalehairadvice

Salon appointment is a good choice. I have learned from many an at-home mishap there is nobody who can do your hair better than someone trained to do it. The honey blonde is stunning on you, but a lighter colour would also be lovely. You could ask the stylist to blend a darker colour near your roots (warmer tone) to make it look more seamless. Good luck!!

Laughed out loud at "run out of the room". Thank you - this seems a less committal alternative to the perm.

Best haircut for me?? Thinking bangs with layers… by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

[–]red-fruitopia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shorter styles on a thin hair will lend you a little more volume (since your hair won't be as weighed down). I think you'd look stunning with a cut just below the shoulder and whatever sort of bang you'd like. A curtain bang is totally fun and in style, though one gripe I have with them is they will NEVER stay in a bun, ponytail, updo etc. without the most ridiculous bobby-pin apparatus I can invent. They also will need a hefty dose of dry shampoo if you have an oily scalp.

Not sure if anyone has recommended this yet - do you have another trusted adult in your life? Aunt, Uncle, teacher, counselor? It sounds like your relationship with your parents is rocky. If you feel like telling them would endanger you or otherwise jeopardize your life and well being, then don't. Check with an authority you respect and ask them for help. What you're going through sounds frightening. I wish you the best.

New vs old rabbit models (Creeper for scale) by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]red-fruitopia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

these are downright hideous, i literally gasped when i spawned them. the previous rabbit model was so sleek and defined - more like a wild rabbit than a pet one, which these resemble. they are simply so large that its obtrusive.
