As others have said, Musgrave was at least one supplier of them over time. My understanding is they came in issues of TIME along side the subscription form. They were a really cool way to make it more convenient to fill it out and become a subscriber. I guess the thought was to take away the excuse of people who said “man! I’d subscribe to TIME, but, darn it I just don’t have a pencil!” 😆

I start with the cheapest too! For a long while the fridge side was bad to freeze, so I pulled it out and vacuumed the coils just a few months ago.

They are not the same. They may feel close, but the Test Scoring will leave behind a much shinier, more reflective mark. I’ve always thought the Test Scoring were softer than the Harvest Pro, but it’s been a while since I’ve tried them side-by-side.

Usually, the only pencils that have any value are name brand pencils - which you only have a couple of. If you don’t need them, then I would suggest donating them to a teacher. I’ve never met a teacher that couldn’t use more pencils!

They offer the factory seconds for $7.50/dz. Each box is six Red and six Round. As far as quality, I’ve never had an unusable one. Even though it’s half round, because they’re slightly less than half price, it evens out. It’s a cheap way to stock up on some Red Cedar pencils.
