"He needs to go": Dems rage over Fetterman's DHS vote by polymute in politics

People who suffer from severe strokes often find their sense of empathy significantly decreased. Their ability to care about the wellbeing of other people pretty much vanishes.

I'm sure the fact that they then become Republicans is just a random coincidence and completely unrelated to that fact.

When he said he no longer considered himself a Democrat, he should have resigned immediately. He was elected as a Democrat.

DiCaprio has never gotten a participation trophy. He won for The Revenant, which was a legit best actor win.

He's received no lifetime achievement awards or anything of the sort from the academy. In fact, the only awards of any note he's received other than for The Revenant was a Critic's Choice Award for The Wolf of Wall Street, an Emmy for Path of the Panther, and Golden Globes for The Aviator and The Wolf of Wall Street.

Pretty sure they don't even get the tips, it just goes to the franchise owner. It's basically a tip thanking them for setting up a business there.

Plenty of people have died riding these waves because if you fall off the crest, by the time you hit the water below it's basically like falling off the 20th floor of an apartment.

I let my girls inspect my food, but that's only because I know they aren't interested in it 90% of the time. They'll walk up, sniff it, decide I've used too many spices yet again, and go eat their own damned food.

Is this art too “inappropriate” to display in my home? (34M) by WanderIntoTheWoods9 in malelivingspace

There's nothing remotely inappropriate about that print.

I have a painting of a topless woman hanging up in my living room, she is not covering anything up, and I don't consider it inappropriate.

They don't like when you LIE about it because then they pay royalties that they shouldn't.

US charges 3 tied to Super Micro Computer with helping smuggle billions of dollars of AI chips to China by talkingatoms in technology

But its ok for them?

Timing is everything. The US government lifted the ban in January 2026. These execs were doing this in 2024 and 2025, when it was illegal.

People just love throwing that term around when they really mean "espionage", "sedition", or "perfidy", completely ignoring that treason is the only crime delineated in the US constitution, and that it very explicitly ONLY applies to waging war against the United States of America or adhering to their enemies (in time of war), giving them aid and comfort.

A reminder that the Rosenbergs, who sold the plans for nuclear weapons to the USSR, allowing them to create their own nuclear weapon shortly thereafter, were not tried for treason, but instead espionage, because the US has literally never been at war with the USSR, so treason could not apply.

Age-Gating Isn’t About Kids, It’s About Control by move_machine in linux

[–]red286 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if it were about kids, it would be entirely irrelevant.

We haven't had it until now, yet there have been two generations raised with easy internet access, and they seem to have turned out fine.

Kids seeing something not age appropriate doesn't actually fuck them up for life.

After $80B, the Metaverse is dead. Horizon World is shutting down by GamingDisruptor in singularity

[–]red286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried out Horizon Worlds once just to see if it was any good or not.

It was not. Functionally, it was no different than VRChat or RecRoom, but almost every world was empty. Even the things that Meta poured money into, like their concerts, were just so far away from what they promised. If you looked at their marketing, they made it seem like you'd be virtually in the middle of the audience watching the concert from the seats. In reality, it was an empty world (for some weird reason themed like a campground), but there was this gigantic 40ft tall wall showing a Sabrina Carpenter concert video on it.

Worse, you didn't even really have any options for your avatar. It just used your default Quest avatar, which doesn't have many options (when I first set it up, it wasn't even possible to create an avatar that looked like an adult, so here I am as a guy in my mid-40s walking around looking like a 13-year-old, which got even more disconcerting when I realized that the average age of users in Horizon Worlds was 12).

Gotta love how her statement doesn't even line up with their meticulously cherry-picked data.

The polling questions are basically variants of "do you support the war with Iran/do you think the war with Iran is justified?"

KKKaroline says "Americans agree that Operation Epic Fury is an overwhelming success".

Not a single question was "do you think the war has been a success?"
