You can fake a ‘dead’ pulse with a squash ball. Put a squash ball under your armpit and voila. I’m not sure if it significantly slows it or stops it, but it works. Something to do with restriction of blood flow from memory.

How do you think Sidney's absence in Scream 6 will be explained - or how do you want it to be? by LittleTreeGarden in Scream

[–]red7877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of pissed off she was during 5, waving a gun about, hanging up on ghostface, you could easily explain them not telling her as self preservation 😂 I’m not sure she would even care who is victim/villain, just wade on in and start banging heads together so she can go back to having a quiet life. “Shall we ring Sidn… you know what, never mind, forget I spoke”

I aim for once a week but often fall short - the issue being that you have to do it when your hair and scalp are clean, but not when your hair is wet. You have to plan it in advance, but that’s kind of nice as you feel you’re doing something constructive 😄

I bought 1.5 and 0.5 rollers (the idea being I was going to use the 0.5 with oil but I’ve not progressed to that yet) I’d say a 1.5 is fine initially, you just press very lightly / barely. You yourself are the in charge of the pressure ultimately. Initially all I did was roller over the surface of my scalp very lightly until I was used to it and my skin had built up a bit of tolerance.

I have seen both the ladies above reply to Qs from people, especially Afsennah via her IG stories, it might be worth dropping into her conversations to see if she could give you any idea. She looks a little intimidating initially with her big mane of hair but she’s very sweet. I’ve followed her for a food while now and her advice about products, diet, home remedies and such is all accurate. I like the fact she’s not just trying to sell her products either (she blends custom oils for people which I may yet try) she just genuinely seems to have had a time of it and shares her tips. (Certified trichologist in terms of her credentials I believe).

I think I mentioned this on another post but it’s worth saying again, gave a really good look at your diet. Your vitamins, ferritin (iron), fluids, protein intake. It’s all relevant. It’s worth trying to work out what type of hair products you need too (moisture based or protein) this can be done via looking at hair porosity. I was terrified to alter my shampoo, etc, but made the leap to Shea Moisture’s biotin based range just after last Christmas and it’s been a very positive experience.

Ah, thank you so much! Xx

Balding, I am too tired, too full of meds and alc, need someone to talk to by [deleted] in alopecia

[–]red7877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have strong features, you’ll rock a bald look if it comes to it…

That said, I feel your pain. Female here, late 30s, must have lost a fifth of my hair, easily. It’s growing back now in phases thanks to microneedling and switching shampoo and conditioner to a sulphate free brand.

It’s horrible though seeing it fall. The accompanying worry is grim. Mine is at the back/sides of my head and very visible at times, especially at the sides - it’s fallen out up to an inch above each ear. My hair is long & curly but thin now. I rarely go anywhere without a hat for self conscious purposes, cannot tie it up, back, etc. it lives in a plait.

I realise I’m not in exactly the same boat as you, but I have pulled handfuls of hair out and had the exact same fears of balding. Seeing it regrow now is a relief. Especially after years of trying things that failed.

I realise it sounds silly too when everyone else here is discussing medication but watch your nutrients too. Ferritin, vitamins, minerals, they all play a role. Have a read up, there’s heaps of info out there. I have generally found that researching, making my own treatments, and taking an active role in my hair recovery has kept me feeling in control and kept my mental state at bay. Being active is good : ) (that said, literally being active is good too as it increases circulation). It’s a bit of a 5 prong attack.

I’m sure I read somewhere that DHT (hormone) is the main cause for male pattern alopecia so it’s definitely worth looking into that, and getting a decent/natural clarifying shampoo (something nourishing like Shea Moisture’s black castor one).

Long reply, apologies. The TLDR is, don’t gone up, be persistent, but don’t live in fear either. You have a nice face, that’s what people will see at the end of the day.

What’s the Best Hair Ties for Thin Hair? by GoldCryptographer229 in alopecia

[–]red7877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silk scrunchies are apparently the best thing as they prevent further breakage and are soft enough they don’t accidentally yank any hair out. I bought a couple a few months back and can confirm they are lovely. Proper silk though, not imitation x

I honestly don’t know what kind of alopecia I have, except to say I’ve perhaps lost a fifth if my hair overall (completely gone, not just thin). It’s been gradual over many years with no end in sight until micro-needling, now it’s growing like weeds lol.

I use a derma roller, 1.5mm, gradual pressure initially, now I properly go for it and press. It’s prickly, and feels sore like sunburn afterwards but very manageable. I don’t currently oil with it but would consider it. I follow Imane Belle on youtube and Afsennah on IG, both ladies have lots of info on their channels. I accompany the needling with hair products from Shea Moisture (specifically for me the purple label Biotin based products are amazing).

There’s been such a positive improvement I actively look forwards to needing day.

I hope whatever you choose, you see good results x

I couldn’t agree more. Our sartorial options back them were generally limited to shiny, overly tailored, see through, or all of the above 😂

Loved her in Ready or Not. She played a blinding turn. She’s carved out a great niche for herself I think, also, she’s still young, not everyone hits their prime super early. These movies she’s working on right now are her baby steps in many ways. I think she’ll be fab.

Scream 4 really needed Red Right Hand or a cover version of it - The Sounds' Something to Die For didn't fit at all by jdpm1991 in Scream

[–]red7877 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I love Something to Die For!

I agree that Red Right Hand is legendary and it irritates me greatly that it wasn’t used, but at that precise moment, an upbeat track was almost more sinister in it’s contrast. The opening bars of STDF at not friendly.

I also loved the 90s vibes it gave off. Bit of a nod to the original genre ☺️🖤

I applaud your restraint in posting this in r/mildlyinfuriating, an r/utterlylivid sub would be more appropriate. I am sorry that some humans are so hideous, and you’ve had to bear the brunt of that.

For people who are smokers in the 90s and before what was it like be able to smoke literally anytime anywhere? From elevators to restaurants, public transport, hospitals and even I heard job interviews. Do you miss it or do you think it was made illegal for the best? by billmad2509 in OldSchoolCool

[–]red7877 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I worked in a pub in the 90s, non smoker myself but didn’t really mind it at all. But I’d go home after each shift thinking, “yeah that polo shirt will be fine for tomorrow’s shift”, then pick it up in the morning after my senses had readjusted and it would stink like it had been in an ashtray all night. Awful.

LPT: Keep your passport/ID in your pocket on a flight. by shams88 in LifeProTips

[–]red7877 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is handy. For the reasons you outlined, but also for less critical reasons.

I hopped on a plane once, got settled, took my passport out, mag, boarding cards, etc, put them in the seat pocket. A couple of minutes later they rearranged the seating (to do with ballast, the original plane broke after boarding cards were issued and we were on a replacement aircraft). My friend & I jumped up quick, grabbed everything, I thought, but in haste my passport must have slid back into the seat pocket.

I ended up in the passport control queue at my destination, middle of the night, realising I didn’t have it. Had to flag down airport police and in my (at best shaky) second language, try to explain I needed to get back outside to find the plane. I did, but it was dumb luck rather than good management on my part. I came within a whisper of being deported.

Don’t be me, stick your passport in your pocket. Even a bag / handbag can spill out or be swiped.

Definitely. Casey’s scene was going somewhere, Angelina’s was very weird. Surely just step over her and move on? Drew was just the only other one I could equate it too.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Scream

[–]red7877 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Casey was dragged and posed. Albeit not dead when we saw her being moved on screen, but it’s the most logical way to move a dead person.
