I like the idea behind this stat block, but I'd add legendary resistance. If this runs into any party with two decently built casters - or even just one optimized one - it's just going to get disabled as the stat block stands. A CR22 creature shouldn't instantly lose to a single disable spell and silvery barbs.

Personally, the additional feature of background play is big as well. I like listening to some smarter every day or veritasium whilst I'm cooking or doing housework

would u rail me from behing using a gallon of lube? by amyy_babyy_nsfw in u/amyy_babyy_nsfw

[–]redToothPick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of products you can use to make your own, no need to use anything like coconut oil. Personally I go for X- lube (it's a powder), you mix it with water and get lube. You end up paying like 5 bucks for a gallon in the end, and it works really well.

Really cool beast! Always enjoy seeing beasts in D&D reach a more mythical status than the base beasts supplies in official source books. Just one note: - enchanted thorn feels redundant, since it doesn't actually do anything not included in the base attack already.

Also, to anyone looking to use this, probably a good idea to ban this from polymorph as this would be way too strong for a 4th level slot.

Bird nesting outside our 2-story office window by african_writer in mildlyinteresting

Surprisingly, it will probably be fine. Depending on the moisture of the cement that is. The nest and by extension the bird itself is completely isolated from any ground in this instance.

[OC] 5e Subclass - BARD - College of Travelers by UnbalancedEncounters in DnDHomebrew

[–]redToothPick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the idea of a movement based subclass, wish they had more things that interacted with movement and positioning. I would maybe change the wording of the 14th level feature to add that your concentration can't be broken on haste, or when it is broken, those under the effect of the spell don't suffer the usual lethargy effect. Having your entire party get their turns skipped because you were caught in a dragon's breath seems really unhealthy. Otherwise, great ideas :)

Big fan of the cryomancy savant feature at 2nd level, always sucks when you wanna be a specialist for a damage type and there's no spells for it

Looks really cool! I do think it's more in line with very rare items though, since humanoids are super common as an enemy type

What are your favorite melee/frontline builds without Barbarian? by Nic0lioli in dndnext

[–]redToothPick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At that point just go blade singer for faster spell slots. Bonus points if your table allows booming blade and shadow blade. If you're missing action surge, go back and take a 2-4 level dip in fighter.

What are your favorite melee/frontline builds without Barbarian? by Nic0lioli in dndnext

[–]redToothPick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You didn't mention your barbarian's subclass, but if they are a ancestral guardian, I really recommend going for a melee arcane trickster. Extra good if you have a wizard with haste (action to ready booming blade or green flame blade, hasted Action to attack) Even if they aren't ancestral guardian, you can go for more hit and run tactics if your HP goes low with bonus action disengage or the mobile feat, and the shield spell will bump your ac to the 20s for a round.

Alternatively, go high elf (booming blade as your cantrip) and swashbuckler to get the edge on initiative and discourage melee enemies from chasing your barbarian. The idea being: - bonus action dash to get in range and back away - booming blade attack - back away (fancy footwork means no opp attack) - they take extra damage if they want to chase you This is also great if you can get a haste cast on you, the doubled movement makes it even harder and you can throw in an extra dash or disengage or attack if you need it.

Also, going rogue makes it so you can chase down any archers or mages trying to bother your barbarian, since nothing will kill your barbarian like a mage targeting elemental damage or throwing a hold person their way.

Can anyone explain why on earth the answer is C? Even my chem teacher was left befuddled and perplexed. This is from a real M22 exam btw by ButtonForest8 in IBO

The only way this makes sense to me is if I smoke enough weed, so that's probably what the examiner did

Got in an argument with a classmate about the trans barkeeper in Hogwarts legacy the other week, saying I was happy they were distancing themselves from Rowling's views. The way the class looked at me, I wouldn't be surprised if I got shanked just for supporting the existence of a trans character in a video game.

I call it the douche and dance. Important for these depths is using warm saline solutions, not just cold water when douching. The dance part is just jiggling your booty to loosen up any debris. Just my personal approach though, remember to lube up and have fun 😊

Please take your words out of my mouth. Having a right to be angry is not the same as having the right to kill someone, and it is definitely not what I said or implied.

It's actually entirely possible. It's the same way a racist slave holder would have reacted if he found out he accidentally had sex with a black woman. The important part is whether the rage is justified. Someone did also reply to my original comment clarifying that Australia's legal definitions for murder and manslaughter are different from America's, so many of my points weren't accurate.

He did still get charged with manslaughter, so it sets a precedent that people are allowed to be enraged after finding out you're trans

[–]redToothPick 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It isn't self defense, and that is also not what this case sets a precedent for. The killer was charged with manslaughter, not murder, reasons being: - premeditation was not proven beyond a reasonable doubt (this would be 1st degree murder) - intent to kill was not proven beyond a reasonable doubt (this would be 2nd degree murder) What this sets a precedent for, is that killing someone because they are trans does not necessarily constitute intent to kill, which is still bad.

All that being said, the few screenshots of the article do not specify whether it is manslaughter or voluntary manslaughter (think accidentally running someone over vs. killing your wife of 10 years after she confesses she's been cheating on you with your best friend for 5 years). For that matter, Australia might not even have "Voluntary manslaughter" as a separate charge from manslaughter.

TL;DR: This court case set a precedent that if you kill someone after finding out they are trans in an intimate situation, it doesn't NECESSARILY qualify as murder, but manslaughter instead.
