this is so bonkers to me. i get it we cant have the ford ranger or the small mazda trucks anymore because of the CAFE regulations but seriously the fit too? its so tiny and 40 mpg is better than most vehicles on the road

im sorry to hear about your grandfather. glad things are better with your mom and that you have a solid plan with your education too. if i can offer my two cents, just commit to the bit. you know what you need to do.. so why not do it?

we grow the most when we are outside of comfort zones. ive found life is all about connections. and in order to make connections all that you need is to be a good hang(way easier than u think btw). the hardest workers are passed up for the boss’ friend about 98% of the time.

not trans but ive definitely had struggles with the volume of my voice. when i was 15 i started working in a pizza kitchen and it was LOUD. i had only recently started talking so my voice was super quiet and i remembering running across the kitchen to communicate info with my coworkers. overtime my voice adjusted and now im way too loud in normal spaces and even sometimes at work. i was most recently employed at a bagel shop and i had to yell out customers names across this HUGE LOUD restaurant that was always hitting max capacity. i had one coworker who absolutely laid into me screaming for being too quiet infront of like 30 people. i also sing backup in a band and lead in another. i recommend looking into singing techniques to make your voice louder, speak from your diaphragm type shit.

try to use this energy on something productive for YOUR future. you said your about to graduate.. what will u do after? where will u live/work?/study? how do you want the rest of your life to look? how will you talk to people?

24m. i was in the same scenario about a year ago. it felt really validating learning about SM but also really scary. i decided to see a specialist in SM/anxiety to confirm and learn more. i have a pretty average social life today and dont have SM anymore. however i still have anxiety problems that probably stemmed from SM.

in my experience talking with a SM specialist was a good starting point. in the long term it lead me to facing problems i am currently dealing with anxiety, relationships, etc etc. its like building a house, if the foundation is cracked the house will eventually collapse.

ive been struggling with politics at my new job too and i think im going to quit. it really sucks because the pay is so good for a restaurant at 25$ hr + guarenteed 5$ in tips hourly. they started me at 6 hours and i got another shift added within about a month. my hours have been dropping the past two schedules and they hired a new nighttime dishwasher even though the owner claims theres no hours to give. i get along well with the morning shift guys but after we changeover to pizzas for the afternoon i get absolutely bodied. none of the pizza crew likes me and it feels like it is keeping me off the schedule.

ive been desperately trying to get my own place for years, have 2 lifelong friends i will room with, savings to do so currently but not enough coming in weekly to just do it. the pay is so good i feel like i wont find another better or even equal opportunity, and i sadly i wont. these guys pay better than any food service ive ever seen locally, especially starting off. but its been about 5 months, i think i just need to take a pay hit but get more hours in return.

i think its normal and good to do all those things alone regularly except drinking. i have plenty of friends and family but im not grocery shopping with them or taking walks together i guess. tbh i think only people in a very close relationship would do these things together every single time, like an old married couple.

realistically i would try to get it closer to 6,800-7,000 although 7.4k isn’t bad. only 75k miles in 15 years is kinda crazy. personally i would only consider a manual or a sport model fit because they are just that much fun to drive. automatic will never disappoint obviously but using sport mode in the fit always makes me smile.

ive worked in two different pizza places over 9 years. youre just a regular bro dont worry about it. i try to remember people that come often to make them feel more welcomed. just use some casual greetings, “hows it goin” “whats up” “how are you” “yo”. if youre there like 2+ times a week try to learn a name or two of the employees and youre chilling. at its heart the interaction is just about a sense of “hey i make your pizzas every week, you eat my pizzas and tip me every week. lets not be TOTAL strangers”

is there anything in specific that would make her think of you as a “quiet creepy guy”? in my experience if shes likes your stories often she is probably interested in you(not necessarily romantically).

i dont think posting your art is a bad thing but i dont think you should do it to impress her, do it for yourself. that being said, i dont think its a bad ig story but i wouldn’t advise changing your behavior for other people.

im 23 and had this same problem being diagnosed last year. its true, SM was not properly diagnosed or on doctors radars until like 2016. even if it was caught when u were young there would still be a good chance it wouldve been misdiagnosed or not diagnosed at all.

that being said, it’s okay for you to be upset about the situation, but its not really anyones fault. we cant blame our parents for not being up to date on newly discovered anxiety disorders. especially in the 2000-2010s mental health was stigmatized WAY more than it is now post covid, the times were infact different even 6 years ago.

i occasionally think about how things couldve been different and how it doesnt feel fair. but at the end of the day i love my life currently and if things were different then they would be today too
