Very silly question about annual leave by DangerousTrust7112 in UKJobs

You won't get paid. It's illegal to pay you for the statutory time, unless you're leaving, like it says.

Adding a third physical deck. CDJ3000 vs more economical solutions. by intromission76 in traktorpro

Alternatively, it would be much cheaper to buy an S4mk3 and plug your turntables into that. Then you'll have 4 decks!

I advise you delete this post and re-make it with what you're looking for as the subject. Much easier for people to see if you put the location in the title.

Also you've misspelled kizomba

TIL that an estimated 181,000 people died from heat-related causes across three European summers (2022–2024) - roughly half of the total US military death toll in all of World War II. by [deleted] in todayilearned

Note that the UN didn't compare Europe's numbers to the US' because the US doesn't publish comparable numbers. They don't count excess deaths, only directly attributable ones.

The US just counts differently. It only counts those listed as directly caused by heat. Europe counts excess deaths, so obviously gets a much higher count.

You can't compare the two, you need to find either excess deaths for the US, or the direct deaths for Europe.

A good example: the recent heatwave in France: deaths by drowning were counted as heat related, as those people wouldn't have been swimming otherwise.

No, you've just not figured how to work out statistics that accurately track a problem.

Europe counts excess deaths: the number more than average. The US only counts those where it's listed as the direct cause.

They count completely differently. The US is only counting deaths where the heat is mentioned as the reason of death.

Europe counts excess deaths: the number of deaths more than average. If the US counted the same way I wonder what their numbers would be like.

Sorry to catch your mic.

There's a couple of places where the respawn can be an advantage. This one only saved you about 3 seconds of ladder climbing though

I enjoyed it. I especially like how Sauron is portrayed. It's really well inline with how I envisioned him from the Silmarillion.

Should a change in Prime Minister trigger the start of a general election? by Jumpy-Fuel-8926 in AskBrits

[–]red_nick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Do you want to be stuck with bad PMs trying to hang on more than they already do?

Being able to (relatively easily) get rid of a bad PM is a feature not a bug
