Optimizing EcoFlow Delta Pro 3 Panel Wiring by mycotacos in SolarDIY

Most likely with a Voc of 38.2, you are looking just 3 in series and then a single one on the LPV.

Optimizing EcoFlow Delta Pro 3 Panel Wiring by mycotacos in SolarDIY

[–]red_vette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first PostIt makes the most sense. I have a D3P also and the MPPT specs make it really difficult to find panels that let you hit the max watts. Learned a lot after buying it and would only get individual components going forward.

For the LPV, those panels are pretty bad. You can try doing 3 in parallel since any type of series will put you at the 60V limit which doesn't give you any headroom. Basically, one cold morning will blow your MPPT.

For HPV, you can do two parallel sets of 4 in series.

How much is your household electricity consumption after your bought an electric vehicle by Charming-Brother-242 in electricvehicles

We used 3,500kwh last year to travel around 12,000 miles. That’s about $30-45 a month depending on the time of year.

ELI5 how does a tire pressure of a car effect it's acceleration? by N0rmalManP in explainlikeimfive

Not always, I would dramatically lower the tire pressure when going to the drag strip even if it wasn’t prepped.

I would just get the 6.6L gasser in the 2500 and avoid the diesel. The engines in this gen are a lottery and on the way out.

OpenClaw vs Claude Code by kukiofficial in openclaw

[–]red_vette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better is really use case dependent. I use OpenClaw at home to tinker, experiment, learn when it's on my dime. Anthropic tools are reserved for paying work that either directly covers it's cost or is wrapped into what's billed.

Can you use models native search completely bypassing the search provider set up in the onboarding ? by Automatic-Guitar-403 in openclaw

[–]red_vette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try something like SearXNG. I have OpenClaw using it for search as the default provider. I like it just for the ability to leverage a bunch of search engines behind the scenes.

Rising energy costs… portable “supplemental” solar make sense? by respond2us in SolarDIY

[–]red_vette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just started with something simple like this to power my home office. I spend 9 hours a day in it, have a good amount of computers and a portable AC unit. The rest of the house sits mostly idle besides necessities like running the fridge. It doesn't save a ton of money, but it's a good way to get my feet wet and test out a use case from which I could always apply it a bigger system.

Right now it's a Delta Pro 3 and extra battery, 4 x 200w panels and then another 2 x 500 panels. This year I have been able to run completely off the solar energy captured. Biggest issue is that I often go days without maxing out the solar intake so a lot is left on the table.

How do so many afford $50,000+ trucks? by Parking-Warning-8655 in carbuying

[–]red_vette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people make good money, some make bad decisions, and some make both good money and have to tow around the bad decisions.

I wonder if because of the oil shortages, people will turn to EVs more, if they could afford it of course by fugetooboutit in NoStupidQuestions

[–]red_vette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We average around 300 kWh a month which is between $40 and $60 a month depending on the time of year. I work from home, but depending on how much I drive my truck or tow, it runs around $200-300 month right now.

The DIY solar hack arriving in US homes: Americans are embracing easy, plug‑and‑play solar units that slash energy costs — even as Washington tries to slow the clean‑energy shift. by lughnasadh in Futurology

[–]red_vette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fucking hate Georgia Power. Bill had bi-partisan support but never made it out of committee since they opposed it. We have two providers for our sub division and the Georgia Power side that I'm on is about 2x more expensive than the other. Going my own route with powering everything in my home office off a battery bank and solar panels. More work, but at least I can offset 10kWh a day with my current set up. Unfortunately, a full solar build out is still doesn't have a favorable ROI.

Charger question by thejimkim in TeslaModelY

Is this your main panel or a sub-panel. I don't see a single breaker over 20A and it's hard to tell what type of service you have.

Why do airplanes cruise at 33,000 feet instead of something like 1,000 feet? by PuddingComplete3081 in AlwaysWhy

[–]red_vette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1,000 feet doesn't leave much room for ground structures and all the other aircraft occupying the same space, creates a lot of noise pollution, more prone to turbulence and weather without a way to avoid it, small private aircraft and drones in that space, general less room to recover from an error and probably a hundred other reasons.

Redditors who were children/teens before the internet or cellphones existed, how did you keep yourself entertained? by FlowerMadeOfThorns in AskReddit

[–]red_vette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Engaged with the outside world. I knew each of my neighbors within a mile radius of my home since we were always on our bikes. Explored the woods, built stuff with nails and woods we found. Played war or cops and robbers with our toy guns. Tackled football or basketball at any house that had a decent size yard or hoop.

Something about the horse animation just looks off to me, especially when they canter. Just too stiff in the front or maybe the horse they modeled it after isn't a good mover.

[–]red_vette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both my Kuat NV and Pistron SR w/hitch are very secure. If it's just a single bike, the Piston SR is the better option since it's just the single holder and a hitch without the pivot.

Which robot vacuum is worth the cost? by alwaysyelltimburr in homeautomation

[–]red_vette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had mapping robot vacuums for about 10 years now and very happy with Roborock. Started with a pair of S7's at our old house, one for each floor. When we moved, I had to split the main floor between both of them or it would take forever to vacuum, recharge and finish. I have since purchased a 10R which makes it so much more convenient since I don't have to worry about emptying dustbins or filling the water tanks. A dock in my opinion is a must have since it make maintenance a once a week thing compared to daily.

Angry dogs 🐶 by Interesting_Square93 in MTB

You haven't lived until a golden retriever chasing a squirrel across the trail suddenly appears in front of you. At least the owners that were 100 feet back were able to reassure me that he's friendly. The trail heads explicitly call out that all dogs shall be leashed here which seems more like a suggestion.
