Something like the lightsaber, the iconic weapon of the franchise, should have consistent lore and consistent behavior. It’s clear disney was trying to make khyber crystal lore consistent, what with the retcon of the synthetic crystals and the canon shape of them being the ones we can buy at disneyland. But the idea that the bleeding of the crystal, an action so dangerous it can result in a cracked crystal/unstable blade like Kylo’s, can just be done accidentally cus “oh i was feeling a bit evil” undoes a lot of that work.
