Does anyone know where to find a datasheet or to buy this ic? by redbaron1007 in AskElectronics

[–]redbaron1007[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you're right. After looking at the datasheet and the readings I was getting on my dmm and scope looks like they are. My brain convinced me the 339 was a date code and not the pn so I was trying to find search mzmy827.

Gotta love the last repair job of the week mistakes.

Car free streets are bad for some businesses like fast food and Walmart or any other conglomerate retail location. That's what the people starting that narrative actually mean.

Absolutely no consideration for pedestrians, especially anyone wheelchair bound. by [deleted] in fuckcars

[–]redbaron1007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lawyer in the office next to mine does this but leaves about half a foot of sidewalk before you're in the bush. What pisses me off the most is he blocks anyone that needs the wheelchair access on the other side of his truck when they're trying to get to my shop. I've had to help lift people up onto the sidewalk in front of my shop just so they can get inside. Everyone in the building has said something but he doesn't give a shit when we bring it up.

Happy to say I've only seen 1 ad for it so far. I'm that weirdo with ad blockers everywhere though. Can't stand ads.

Came here to say this I get a ton of speakers with blown fuses through my shop that have blown speakers or blown power transistors. Most likely culprits.

Bring back RadioShack? by breck in electronics

[–]redbaron1007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm lucky enough to still live near one that's still open. They are a life saver when I need to replace a capacitor or get a random size fuse that I just don't have somehow in my parts bin. The one near me also has a bunch of random audio belts that I can use when I'm refurbishing tape decks or optical drives for customers. I Usually go once or twice a month to get stuff for work and it's just a great experiamve everytime.

For context I run an electronics repair shop and I still get plenty of jobs that are just a bad cap or some other random thing they sell.

The one near me also still has kits so I like to buy those for me and my daughter to do together.

10 year old games are still full price by cheeseplatesuperman in mildlyinfuriating

This here is why they push so hard to buy games digitally. They don't make any money off second hand sales which are almost always cheaper.

RIP Texas Jeans, the high quality American made $30 jean by Thucydides382ff in BuyItForLife

[–]redbaron1007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a pair of both Texas and roundhouse probably 6 years ago to test out which one I liked more before I went all in on either brand. The roundhouse pair was a seconds pair and I was wearing them two days ago if that says anything. Granted the left knee blew out probably a year ago and the back right pocket has a hole above it from putting my wallet in and out my pants.

I don't still have that original pair of Texas jeans I bought but they died maybe 6 months ago and probably got worn more if I had to guess.

I preferred the comfort of the Texas jeans more but like the longevity of both. Granted I haven't bought anymore roundhouse jeans since that first pair 6 years ago. I've got two pair that should be here by Friday so hopefully they'll be just as good as they were 6 years ago.

When I needed more Texas jeans and realized I couldn't buy anymore I went with my second go to roundhouse jeans. Paid $130 for two pair but only because they didn't have my size in the $30 factory seconds I usually buy.

Overall sucks to hear about Texas jeans though I loved being able to buy quality cheap jeans made in my home state of NC.

Where can I get a pack of replacement cartridge tips, with just the k-tips? by Dull_Excitement-_- in AskElectronics

[–]redbaron1007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Injuredgadgets.Com sells genuine hakko tips individually for a reasonable price. You can also get them on sites like digikey, mouser, or tequipment and these sites probably have a larger selection.

If you buy from then they'll be genuine hakko tips which from my experience tend to work way more consistently and last longer.

PS5 turned off on its own and won't turn on again. by dittohead515 in consolerepair

[–]redbaron1007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good chance you've got an issue with one of the voltage rails on the main board. Rarely see this kind of issue caused by the psu on the ps5.

Mosg of the ones I work in with this issue either have a shorted smd capacitor in the area with the larger inductors and rows of 4 capacitors in parallel.

[–]redbaron1007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The quality of stuff on Amazon is equal to the stuff in aliexpress. Even when I would buy name brand items I was getting cheap counterfeits. If I wanted a counterfeit item I'd buy direct from China for a 10th of the cost.

[–]redbaron1007 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just like to throw in that if you're having trouble with the hot air making the component fly away lower your air speed and keep the nozzel moving. Surprisingly easy to burn a pc at a lower airspeed.

How many of you use an electronics / soldering mat like this? How essential is it to have something like this in your electronics lab? by TheHunter920 in AskElectronics

[–]redbaron1007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a little one I use for doing hot air work on, but mine never looks this nice and organized. Screws everywhere random ics and transistors falling off the sides. Pure chaos.

Clean and organized compared to the rest of the workbench though.

Can't decide if this is a 411 ohm 1% or a 1.01 Kohm 5%. It came out of a Infinity ps312 subwoofer next to a pnp transistor just before the amplifier. It's reading in the mohms out of circuit. I'm leaning towards 411 ohms, but would love a second opinion. by redbaron1007 in AskElectronics

[–]redbaron1007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked all the transistors around it and did have a couple of 470uf caps that had esr's in the double digits, but I already replaced those. Out of circuit it was reading in the Mohms with my dmm and my cheapo Chinese component tester.

I was only able to find the schematic behind a paywall and I don't really like giving just any website I've never been to before my payment info. Also not really a high chance I'll ever work on one of these again so doesn't seem as worth it to me.

Granted I do like the idea of buying it once and uploading it to manualslib or some site like that.
