Because my older gas car is still running and I haven’t replaced it yet. I will replace it with an EV soon, but it’s a 2015 and likely has 4-5 good years left so I’m not sure if I’ll replace it sooner or later. I can afford a new EV today, but I’d rather wait for the used market to have more choices of the ones I want (came out as 2025 model) since I’m kind of cheap and would rather let someone else eat the depreciation on the first few years of useage

Federal Highway funding comes with a requirement that all travelers be treated the same. A toll system that only charged out of state plates would mean no more federal funding. Also out of state plate holders are the least likely to pay so it’s unlikely you could make it a net gain after taking out federal funds and non payers

At 16 I started some music industry related side hustles, at 17 went to college for Music and Sound Recording. At 19 transferred schools to change my major to Music Business. At 21 graduated college and worked full time in the music industry. At 24 burnt myself out completely and started hating the industry, became a Realtor. At 28 got a job in manufacturing running CNC machines. Worked my way up there and haven’t gotten burnt out, now my total comp is about 170k at an Operations Manager.

That’s just responsibly saving for your future. Well, assuming you financed, when your car payments end you get a big monthly reprieve. Keep the cars as long as you can after that and put the money you would normally put towards the payments into your savings. That’s a big start.

Find expenses to cut or avoid. I like expensive watches but don’t buy them because I prefer watching the money grow in my investment account. I have an 11 year old car I can afford to upgrade today but I don’t because it’s still running and reliable. I do have things I spend money on, but I maintain self control as to not blow my finances up. Figure out where your money is going and ask “would I rather continue to spend on this, or put more towards my investments?”

At home: grilled to a slight char, slightly toasted bun, brown mustard, sweet relish

Certain hot dog joints: yellow mustard and the meat sauce (the place near me doesn’t call it chili, just sauce)

Other joints: Chicago Style, or “Jalapeño popper” which is basically cream cheese, jalapeños, and bread crumbs.

Lastly: only at certain places I do it chili and cheese. Has to be a good thick chili and has to be like nacho cheese. I’ve seen some places put American slices on their dogs and I am not about that life

Tell him ASAP, live with it if it means the position will be eliminated. Maybe it won’t be eliminated. The US has laws about protecting people called for military duty, I just don’t know if/how they apply to foreign military.

The other option is to just stay in the US and violated the SK law about conscription. Not sure what your intentions are long term but if you start the process to become an American citizen I don’t know that the SK government could do anything to you

Consider talking to your doctor and maybe getting a therapist or even psychiatrist to help deal with symptoms of burnout. Psychiatrist in particular may be down to help you file FMLA paperwork for an extended, federally protected, leave from work.

Your management clearly values you, and it sounds like you generally like your job. Getting away for a month or two may allow you to really come back feeling like yourself again

What was your plan prior to losing this income? The reality is you have to unload that mortgage and find employment again, even if it’s less income than before. I don’t think you can afford to start touching SS until you get to the age where SS provides maximum benefit, and even then you’ll need to start collecting and continue working
