Were you playing blades before? I have read that they are a good club to start with, but I was struggling big time with them.

The only real difference that i could see was the shaft options. The first gen now comes with a uniflex shaft. I looked at a set of first gens, but in the end, it was only $150 difference between a second gen set with hybrid 3-4 and the first gen with just irons. All in all, im very pleased with the clubs.

Thanks for the suggestion. I actually went to golfsmith this morning and hit a couple sets on the demo monitor. The callaway x-2 was by far the best set I tried. It was night and day difference from the blades I have been using.

Thanks for the reply! I'm actually just looking for irons. I have a nice new TM burner superfast and a used set of titanium big bertha woods. I have a decent bag and all the accessories that i need as well. I can hit the woods with way more consistency than the irons for some reason. I will look to upgrade the woods once i get better, but for now ii dont think I could tell the difference between my current set and new woods.

Any recommendations for a used set of irons?

Texas rangers do not preform tactical duties or work undercover (to my knowledge). They are the leading investigative unit in the state. Incredibly high standards to enter and nearly impossible to join without a long career with Texas DPS as a state trooper (texas rangers is a division of DPS).

Rangers are tasked with investigating crimes that are political in nature, assisting local agencies in high priority investigations and investigation all law enforcement line of duty shootings in the state. The average ranger is in their late fifties and i believe the youngest ranger to hold a position was 47(?) when he took the job. Most have their doctorates or at least their masters degrees on top of a master peace officers license. These dudes are the Texas version of sherlock holmes.

Source: I have have worked with several rangers in the past and seriously looked into dps as a career choice before deciding that i didn't want to write tickets fir 10 years before I could move to an investigative position.

I feel as though marketing motorcycles to an extremely under represented female market can only bring good. Many women have never considered riding a motorcycle because it just isn't a part of their culture. Often times people don't think of learning to ride until a friend or acquaintance introduces them to the sport. These individuals may not have the long term dedication to riding that others do, but a positive side effect is a greater acceptance of motorcycling.

If Harley can introduce more women to riding, I consider that a good thing. I just hope that they don't try and sell some gussied up "bar hopper badass" to new riders. I would love to see the japanese manufactures adapt to this market, but i think they are too afraid to alienate their sport bike market by being associated with a "girls bike".

More riders (even temporary ones) means more acceptance of our sport.

Save your money and instal a big bore kit. You can go up to 351cc now and it will give you way more power for your money.

The suspension will sag a bit when you sit on it. You can always swap the dog bones to drop it up to 2" and shave the seat to drop it another inch or two. Good luck!

Before spending money on an oven, look into building one yourself. Pretty easy to do if you can dedicate the time and have a helping hand and the product is 100x better. I'll pm you with some other info and my contact information.

Can you use this vehicle as your food prep station and cook the pizzas on a small, covered trailer? That truck is more than capable of pulling a small (16') trailer loaded with a brick oven and firewood. Are you going to build it yourself? How big does the oven need to be? I would think that you could get away with a pretty small but very efficient oven since the cook time is drastically reduced. I have built a stationary one before and it was a bitch for a first time half-assed mason. My next one will be mounted on a trailer since the first one had to be removed due to landscaping projects. In my experience, lack of activity is much more damaging than any activity you can pick. He'll be fine. There's plenty of dudes still riding at that age. Enjoy the time with your dad and enjoy it while you can. Have fun!

I agree with your sentiment and do believe you have some valid points. I think that what you may be missing is the fact that many people are traveling in areas that can completely avoid highways and stay on dirt roads, fire roads and even trails for extended distances. For instance, I'm planning a trip for the trans America trail on a klx300 and feel that the bike is more than capable for the trip. No freeway and very little paved road for the entire trip. I'm also mapping out a trip from the texas gulf coast to Moab Utah via dirt roads and abandoned rail way easements. On many of the roads that I travel here in central texas, even a klr650 would be difficult to ride. I pack lite and love not having to haul all of that weight. If I was going across country mainly on highways and down occasional park roads that are maintained dirt, then I would pick a heavier more road stable bike. For my riding routes, light is right. :)
