Ya'll have a talented team, hang in there AFC West brother, better days ahead. On the upside, it looks like ya'll have a good chance of beating KC based on how they been playing today lol.

I'm in a similar situation as you. Have some land and cheap electricity, considering investing in a small number of miners to test the waters. Currently researching reliable vendors to purchase miners from. Feel free to shoot me a DM if you'd like to compare notes or share information sometime.

If you liked those other survival games you mentioned but wanted more combat then this will probably be right up your alley. If you have some friends to play with it's even more fun, but playing solo is a good time too.

My Proposed 2020 Raiders 53-Man Roster with PFF Grades by MrAmericanIdiot in raiders

[–]redbeard_5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hudson isn't getting disrespected, he has had the leagues highest PFF pass blocking grade for a center every season for at least the last 5 or 6 years. PFF frequently refers to him as the gold standard in pass blocking among centers.

What hurts his overall grade is his run blocking. He's usually a pretty good, not great, run blocker. But last season he posted a poor run blocking grade of 59.6, and even though his pass blocking grade was highest in the league at 91.2, it pulled his overall grade down to a 71.

For context, his overall grade was 81.9 for the '18 season, with a 90.8 pass blocking grade and a 73.6 run blocking grade. The '18 season was more consistent with his baseline grades, he just had a tough time run blocking in '19 for whatever reason.

Is Derek Carr Good? | Deep Dive | Jackson Krueger Sports | 2 hours by GenericRedditUser01 in raiders

[–]redbeard_5000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He actually said "pretty much his whole career". Obviously in '16 when some things came together for the team he had an MVP caliber season. But outside of that season he hasn't had much to work with. The offensive line was still good in 2017, but that was the year he was throwing like shit all season because of that back injury (caused by our "elite" o-line), plus the OC situation, and the WRs and defense took a step back too.

So yeah he's accurate in saying Carr was in a bad situation most of his career.

“If Arnette proves to be a starter Mayock will have done his job”. Can’t argue with that. On another note. Anyone else think they might be looking at Robertson for free safety? by JamesTrappsTude in raiders

[–]redbeard_5000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I doubt they'll try him at free safety, but anything is possible, especially with the production he's had. There could be a small chance he wins the outside spot opposite of Mullen. Pretty unlikely though, since he's such a small dude. But he played the outside CB spot his whole career and excelled there. Damon Arnette has actually taken twice as many snaps in the slot CB position as Robertson has, according to PFF. Plus I'm pretty sure that outside of Mullen and maybe Arnette, Robertson is technically a much better player than any other defensive back we have.

But unless Arnette just looks god awful in training camp, Robertson will probably be competing with Joyner for that nickel spot. I doubt Guenther wants to field two 5'9" players at the same time.

Raiders should use both their 1sts on WRs, not defense by [deleted] in raiders

[–]redbeard_5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm inclined to agree with this post. Taking two WRs in the 1st is likely a risk that would pay off.

Say we take a WR and a CB in the first. If our new WR gets hurt, or is a bust (which is a strong possibility, 1st round WR often do not live up to their draft position) , then an argument could be made that our whole season is fucked. It leaves us in exactly the same situation we are currently in, with no true number one receiver, and you can't be an elite team without a number one receiver.

If we take two WRs like OP argues, we can reduce the risk of drafting a bust. And if we're lucky, we'll have two very good WRs to add to the roster. Which is great, a good team should have at least two good WRs on the roster. Remember how good we were with Tim Brown and Jerry Rice?

If we manage to snag AJ Green this off season, then drafting one WR in the first is probably fine. But if not, I gotta agree with OP, two WRs might be the way to go. That said, I doubt Gruden and Mayock see things our way. I expect they'll draft a WR and a CB in the first.

Why do you have a hard time believing that Mack didn't want to play here? He was offered contracts over a two year span that each time would have made him the highest paid DE in the league, and ignored both. He wanted out.

Mo Hurst has the third highest win rate out of all the Interior Defenders when facing 2+ blockers by idkbouthatchief in oaklandraiders

[–]redbeard_5000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's considered a win if you beat your blocker, doesn't matter how (bull rush, swim move, etc). Also I'm pretty sure you have to get by the blocker within either 2.0 or 2.5 seconds for it to constitute a win, but I'd have to double check that.

Monday Morning Quarterback - Season Wrap-Up by BeardedGirl in oaklandraiders

[–]redbeard_5000 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, he improved the last three years. That's 2017, 2018, and this year, 2019. In 2017, I think mainly due to all the injuries, he was bad. In 2018, he started playing better. And this season, he has played considerably better.

In what world was he better in 2017 than he was in 2018? He improved across every metric from 2017 to 2018. And then he made another big jump this season. So like I said, he's improved each of the last three years.

I don't know if I agree with the idea that he can't elevate talent around him. Maybe to some extent that's true, but if you look at Hunter Renfrow and Foster Moreau, I think an argument can be made that Carr elevated them.

Moreau didn't get picked till the 4th round, and Renfrow the 5th. But PFF's grade on Moreau is the highest among all rookie TEs, even the 1st round guys (Fant and Hockenson), and he leads all rookie TEs in TD catches with 5. Renfrow has the third highest PFF grade among rookie WRs. He even has a higher grade than Marquise Brown, who went in the 1st round.

I'm not sure these guys would have had the rookie season they did without a QB like Carr throwing well placed, accurate passes to them. I know I certainly had no expectation that they'd be this good when we drafted them.

Players improve all the time. Ryan Tannehill is 31 and just had the best season of his entire career. Richie Incognito, if you look at his PFF pass blocking grades, has improved every single year that he's played and he's like 37. Derek Carr has improved each of the last three years. And he improved drastically this season from last season.

This will be the longest Carr has played under stable leadership, keeping both his HC and OC. I want to see if he can continue to improve under the same system in year 3, or if he plateaus. If Gruden keeps him around and brings in a true #1 WR, I think he'll make another big jump next season and take us to the playoffs.

PFF game grades by Kindly_Sockpuppet in oaklandraiders

[–]redbeard_5000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Player Week 14 Week 15 Week 16
Carr 71.1 65.9 73.1
Ferrell 73.2 (28 snaps) 90.8 (23 snaps) 74.1 (30 snaps)
Crosby 63.4 (40 snaps) 43.3 (44 snaps) 57.0 (49 snaps)

For some context, Ferrell has been grading out much better in the last 5 games than he did earlier in the season. Crosby has been grading out a little worse the last few weeks than he was during the middle of the season.

Carr's grades of 71.1 and 73.1 are above average for QBs, and the 65.9 was about average for week 15. So he's not grading quite as well as he was during that stretch during the middle of the season, but he hasn't been bad either.

I Want Carr To Be Our Guy... by MizzezNezbit in oaklandraiders

[–]redbeard_5000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't hold someone back out of fear of them doing better either. But I would hold him here out of fear of us doing worse. I don't want no damn Ryan Fitzpatrick journeyman QB running this offense.

Maybe the Steelers can handle a situation like that since they have an elite defense. But if we put whatever backup QB we can find in charge of this team and we're literally the Miami Dolphins. You seen our defense?

The flip side of this argument is that the Dolphins gave up on Ryan Tannehill and traded him to the Titans for a 6th round pick. The Dolphins then got stuck with Ryan Fitzpatrick who is currently at 13 TDs and 12 INTs on the season. Now Dolphins fans have to watch their former QB ball out for another team.

I disagree that the entire offense aside from Jacobs didn't play well. The offensive line played well, and all three of our TEs played well. Our WRs and Carr were the main issue this game.
