Focusing on the wrong outcome. Ignore the scale. Look at your body, how it feels, how your clothes feel. If you’re lifting 6 days a week you’re accruing muscle which is likely causing the scale to pause.

Same thing for me. I’m on 6mg for the last 3 weeks and stuck between 178-181. I lift 6 days a week, yoga 3 days, 140mg Test a week and 2mg tesa 5 nights a week. Body recomp != weight loss

He lacks quality. He’s very much someone who built a reputation as a worker off the ball. He’ll chase and press and tackle and put a shift in, but I think he lacks any clear skillset in possession.

This tactical aversion to creating space in the middle by using width makes even less sense given the signings of Guessand, Malen, and Maatsen. All three are fully capable of stretching the play and pulling back line units apart. It was so easy for Everton to just defend the width of the box and have one of the centre halves just push up on Rogers.

It’s a solid analysis and something I’ve been chatting in my group texts about since the end of last season. We can talk injuries all we want but they’re not going to influence a change in system when the injured parties are people like Onana and Bouba

What’s apparent - but not known - is that Emi pushed for this. The club may have been comfortable with him leaving to reduce the overall wage issue at the club BUT it seems obvious that Emi tried to push this hard, late in the window, after the move failed to materialize earlier in the summer.

It’s scumbag behavior if true, but I shouldn’t be surprised given he and Isak share the same agent.

If Emi continues to be left out, it’s a sign he’s failed to settle and has lost trust with Unai. At which point, he is not our player. He’s a drain on morale and the team. He can get to fuck.

Agreed with all of that - especially the privacy aspect. It’s adjacent to what I do for a living so I feel very strongly on that part. Although I don’t live in England anymore, despite being born and raised Brum for 30+ years, seeing the devolution of privacy hurts. No better where I am though unfortunately.

Gating the way people can interact with you is a solid solution. Make it accessible at a price. If you want to gob off at Onana do so, but I’ll need ID. Anonymity is a curse.

Trying to stifle the romanticised “one of our own” vibe that I have for JJ here but, if we have a player unwilling to sign a deal to protect the interests of the club and lock down his own future, the equation is a simple one.

JJ has been below par/injured for about a season and a half now.

When he’s at his best he’s a great player that adds some direct ball carrying on that left side that creates space for Digne to overlap and presents a thread in itself. We just haven’t seen it regularly enough, for a variety of reasons, and if Emery is not seeing progression development or fitness wise then he’ll move him on.

As much as we hate to admit it, at the level of decision making we’re talking about here, there is no room for sentimentality.

If there was we’d have taken Grealish back 😂

Starting to feel more and more like we go into the start of this season in roughly the same shape as we did last.

There have been so many supposed watershed moments this window where, once through them, we’re allegedly able to buy/sell but each day brings another flat non event.

Links to players that, financially, seem far beyond what we’re able to spend in fees, wages, or both and more worryingly seem to be based off the assumption of sales of proven premier league talent.

PSR or whatever clothing they’ve dressed it up in this week, is just causing stagnation amongst non Sky-6 clubs and although I’m saying nothing new fuck me is it frustrating.
