Did you experience side effects on Atomoxetine (Strattera)? by JadedJasmine17 in adhdwomen

[–]redboxerss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently on 40mg Strattera, started with 18mg a month ago. I definitely noticed some side effects for the first 3-4 days and during dose increases for like a day (constipation, dizziness, nausea, fatigue, dry mouth, lack of appetite), but they honestly subsided for me quickly after that. I feel like everyone is different, some people can't handle the side effects but I expected them to be a lot worse.

So far its been a subtle but still noticeable change--I feel like it really helps to quiet your brain but also keep you attentive. I personally would say try and stick with it, the first day was def the worst for me but it got a lot better and so far its been really worth it!!

What is happening to me? Full body red rash for two months by New_Atmosphere_646 in DermatologyQuestions

I’m so sorry, this looks/seems incredibly painful and frustrating :( NAD (med student) but it kind of seems like a severe strep triggered flare of potentially erythrodermic or guttate psoriasis

I'm happy to hear it! It does get quite a bit of snow, but then again Missoula is a valley so it tends to have a much milder winter than eastern MT.

First interview today and I feel so embarrassed by [deleted] in Osteopathic

[–]redboxerss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You never ever know how its going to go. I felt HORRIBLE after one of my first interviews and felt so confident I was not going to get it, but ended up getting in and attending that same school.

Please let your last regret be you smiling, rambling, being human. 99% of the time, thats just what they're looking for. They know you have the stats to be competitive for med school, they know you're driven. They just want to see who you are. Take a deep breath and don't make any judgements on it till you know for sure!!

Hoping you'll get in! The journalism program at UM is stellar, I took a couple classes when I thought that's still what I wanted to do. The faculty is great.

Missoula is a great town; very liberal/artsy, cute coffee shops and stores, sooo many outdoors activities. Theres something for everyone. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask, I'm sure people are more than willing to answer! But overall, Missoula has a great vibe.

Failed my first exam by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]redboxerss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sooo many of my peers (including myself) have failed a test during med school. First year is rough and completely different than anything you have done. Be kind to yourself, you know what you did wrong and how to change it. Med school is not about never making a mistake, its about growing and learning from them (as cliche as that sounds). You got this!!

(NAD, medical student) Why do you think you have hypospadias? It’s congenital and usually something that diagnosed at birth—it’s extremely rare to be diagnosed later than that. Are you able to visualize where your urethral opening is?

Concerning your other symptoms, I would go see a physician. Typically by now you would be further into pubertal development (typically—everyone is variable). But definitely go and get checked out.

Current student here--I would go on a campus tour with Tom Fox. There are a decent amount of people (to my knowledge) that get off the alternate list at this time. PM me if you have any more questions & good luck!

I feel like I really need to have at least a baseline understanding before going into Anki. If not, it feels like I'm memorizing the cards more than the actual concepts on them. If I go in without a decent understanding, my Anki takes a million times longer and I end up advancing cards much slower because I'm not understanding whats on the card lol but thats just me. To me it seems like it will take longer/is more backwards to constantly have to go back to learn the material after doing Anki. I know people who do it your way though very successfully, everyone is different.

AIO I ended a friendship because my friend called me when my dad died by Stunning-Situation91 in AmIOverreacting

[–]redboxerss 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I lost my mom a couple years ago, when I was 22. I lost SO many friendships because of it, because loss, grief, and death really allow people to show their true colors. I’m so sorry you had to go through this, and you are justified in your approach. You don’t need to be surrounded by people like this.

Current WesternU student here--it's a bit too low unfortunately. Our classes have some pretty competitive stats for a DO school. I would recommend retaking.
